Default Just Bought a 1990 Miata Turbo. Pics!!!

Hello guys and Girls. Just wanted to stop by and Introduce myself. My name is Luis and I'm an Alcoholic LOL!! J/k. I Used to own a widebody Turbo 1st gen RX7 for 11years. Unfortunately 3 years ago Rust got the better of her and i was forced to part her out. Since then I've been driving around My 5sp Is300 and still love my lexus but still missed the fun little boosted car I used to love. Anyways, browsing Craigslist the other night with some friends for a weekend toy we stumbled upon a deal to good to be true. A 1990 Miata turbo for $2500 just 3 hours away from my house

To make a long story short, Shes all Mine now.I did a bit of searching And I found the owner of the car back in 2002. Shes had a bit of changes since then and doesn't look quitew as clean, but i'll take care of that.

The car now has
BEGI System III Turbo/With intercooler
Link ECU with Access Key Pad
Short shifter kit
Act Clutch/Aluminum Flywheel
KYB 8-way Adjustable shocks
Griffin Radiator
Flyin Miata springs
Freedom design strut tower brace
15x6.5 Rota Cirquit 8 wheels/BFG Gforce KD
Mazdaspeed 4pt harness
Powerslot Brembo rotors/Carbotech pads
Stainless stell brake lines

BTW: I've been a member at RX7club.com since 2001, so I know how to use the search button

That's an exceptional deal on that car. It looks very well done and a very quality build. How many miles and what kind of shape is the engine in?

YEP $2500

The car now has 142k on odometer. Not a lot of miles have been put on the car since 2005 when it had 132k. The car is only boosting 8lbs at the present time, but engine feels very strong. The only thing I know is that the engine was built sometime before 2002. I'm pretty sure I will refresh the engine before I decide to retune her, and turn up the boost to 12lbs. The Previous owner says the engine was built with Forged pistons. I wish I could get a hold of the guy who actully built the car so I can get all the facts on what year the engine was built and how many miles it had on the odometer at the time.

First thing on the "To do list" is removing the stripes.

Good idea on the stripes

Nice looking vehicle. I'm jealous of the price.

I do miss my RX7. I was planning on dropping her like this photochop, but I never got the chance too.

Took the blue strips out. The paint looks to be in good shape.

Found these little Infiniti's in the seats. I had no idea they came like that.

My plans for the future are some Trukin99 Flares, some nice deep dish wheels and maybe Flat Black wrap like this.

Wow, seems like alot of rx7 owners switch over to miata's...

I remember your FB from the good old days of rx7club. I've still got my 10th AE FC.

Looking forward to seeing what you'll do with this car.

Thanks, I worked on it a little the other day. I cleaned up the enginebay and it looks a bit better. I still need to repaint the IC piping and polish the valve cover.

I aslo lowered the car as much as I could by bringing the coilover nut almost all the way down.

I didn't drive the car after I lowered it, because I had to rush to work. I wonder if I drive it for a while, it will settle and drop a bit more?

Is that one of the older System IIIs?

May have the IHI Turbo. If so and you end up looking to upgrade talk to FastG or myself. Very few of us out there, and even fewer options. Good little setup though for midrange power.

I also ask as the car looks really similar to this one:

Anyhow, welcome!

Yes, put your location in your details so it shows up under your name. We like to know who our neighbors are.

<------ Done

yes, it's a systemIII with IHI5 little turbo. For now the car runs just fine, so i'm not gona mess it. First find hardtop, then I might put on some 16x8 sportmax like this car.

CAR FEATURE>>RE-POWERED NA6CE IN BC - Speedhunters

My keypad shows that my ecu is running the MK1 2001 chip. Will there be any benefit upgrading to a 2005 chip?

If I ever do decide to go crazy on this car, then I'll just slap this badboy on
