Hey, long time lurker, learnt heaps from this site. Thought I'd join up and start a build thread sometime soon.

Bought the car like this

Came from a 180sx with 340hp at the wheels and quickly found the mx5 too tame. Found this site whilst working out how to turbo my mx5.

Some pics:
Turbo conversion when it was mostly finished.

Extra mods:
NitroDann made me the manifold, 3 inch DP and full exhaust. He also did my intercooler setup. :-)

Gt2560 BB off a s15.

Zeitronix ZT3 Wideband

ID1000

EMS - EM70 computer (wish I had got a megasquirt :-( ) with flex fuel sensor. Will be running E85 soon.

Larger radiator + Nirtodann reroute

Toyota COP conversion

Ended up with:

No idea why the torque reading is so high. Just thought I'd mention the tuner had no affiliation with Nitrodann.

Had some tuning issues. Small boost leak, spark blowout, coolant correction was out and the TPS wasn't reading correctly. Also the I bought an ECU that was brand new on the market, when it was tuned the software was crap and still in development which caused major hassles. It'll be going back for a flex retune once I fix the TPS and coolant correction issues.

Ran a 14.09 @ 165km/h, due to me babying my gearbox a bit, stiff suspension and average tyres and most of all my lack of drag racing skills.

Plans for this weekend are radiator ducting and underbody tray to fix cooling issues on freeway.

Long term get my retune done then start hitting the track. :-)

Also recently removed AC, will be removing PS soon too.

Any comments or advice welcome. :-)

Very nice. Any track time yet?

Not yet unfortunately, wont happen until next year. I still owe some money to my parents for the build (ended up going slightly overbudget), and as I'm finishing my uni course at the moment I don't really have money to repair any thing that may break. I'm slowly working on fixing up the support systems (i.e shroud, undertray etc) at the moment anyway, its not really track ready yet.
