New to car life
Hey guys/girls, I am new to this whole car project life, my friends have been a part of it and I am tired of feeling alienated by their car talk. So I decided to start my life right and get a 1999 Miata. I'm from East Side San Jose so the first thing I got for it was a quick release because I do not trust my project car(which I intended to pour money into) in my neighborhood. I am also a reptile keeper and have a ball python collection. I have read a couple threads but not enough. I found this page through thecarpassionchannel and hope to learn a lot from you guys. I am here to learn how to PROPERLY turbocharge my Miata and I know I have a lot of threads to read so I better get started 🚗🏃🏽💨

You've found the right place to learn and talk about your new Miata. Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the forum!
If you have any questions or need assistance finding mods, let us know. |
Welcome to the forum. A QR is a great anti theft device.
A 99 is a good model to start with. Be careful with any YouTube turbo advice with regards to Miatas. There's a lot of misinformation and incomplete information there. Read our sticky threads and some of the build threads to see what works and what doesn't. |
I will for sure ask you guys about mods and thanks, I know that there is a lot of misinformation so that is why I came here to ask for tips and advice. Makes me happy to know that there are a group of Miata keepers who take pride in their expertise and are willing to lend a helping hand to a newb 😂

We'll try to be gentle.

Gentle, right. That means waiting until the second stroke to go balls deep?

You might want to look into getting a car tracker if you're worried about theft. Having wheel locks is not a bad idea either if you don't want to find your car sitting on jack stands without wheels...
Welcome here and I hope that your car (and you!) stay safe. I'm relatively new here but it's a great community if you're willing to do your homework! |
Yeah you're gonna need more than a QR to keep your car safe in the east side.
