Hey everyone! My name is Ashley and I have a 94 Miata with an 03 motor swap. The car is naturally aspirated and I track it with NASA in PT-E class for wheel to wheel. I actually work at Honeywell (Garrett turbochargers) so I design turbochargers as an engineer *yay female engineers!* for a living but I'm not too familiar with turbo Miatas. This forum has some good information so I figured I should finally join. I know the only thing anyone cares about are pics so here you go:
Here's how I bought the car (2012): https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1434043515 Here is the car now: https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1434043515 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1434043515 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1434043515 |
Welcome to the forum. We've got a lot of engineers here! And a lot of track junkies, too.
Please excuse my avatar. Everyone knows there aren't any women on the car forums, so we tend to be rather informal and occasionally locker-room-ish. Let me apologize in advance for most of us. Woman engineer and NASA w2w racer? Are you sure you exist? |
And as long as we are talking about impossible things, you didn't really drive the car to the location in the first photo. It was placed there with a crane.
|
Haha pretty sure I exist :P First pic is by Holy Jims in CA. Hard pack dirt, didn't drive down the trail

That's a very interesting rollcage design, with the two parallel(?) diagonals behind the driver.
At any rate, welcome aboard. That's a very good-looking car, and it's always nice to have another "serious" track junkie added to the list. |
That's pretty awesome, I have a TTE car here in the AZ region. Finishing the cage now for W2W.

Joe, Here is a better picture from a different angle:
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1434052498 Had the cage welded in at TC Design in Milpitas. I love how it turned out. He tucked it in so close to the A pillars that I can't even get a piece of paper in between. Same for when I had my stock hard top. This is my first year in wheel to wheel and my second year tracking on open course tracks. Started out in autocross for a while in a Mustang, graduated to a Miata for HPDE :) |

Welcome, ashleymiche. Check out the Miata Gallery and post up some pics!

I can confirm that Ashley exists. And has a very nice Miata.
Nice to see you've finally found your way here. We won't talk about your days over on CR. Will you be out at MMRLS again this year??? |
Thanks everyone! Haha Joe, I never had too many bad experiences on CR. I'm just not online that often.
I'm not going to mmrls this year unfortunately :/ I signed up for NASA nationals but haven't made my last two races due to electrical issues so I'm out of points running :( it's been a rough year to say the least |
