howdy,

new guy here with a megasquirted 1.6 Rx7 rally car project! Ill be tooling around for information as i was referred here for the megasquirt subforum.

Now you should swap in the 1.8L.

actually i had clearances issues with the 1.8 since its a touch longer. When/if i kill the 1.6, the 1.8 is planned. Had a better CAS location for me anyway, related to the heater core inlet/outlet.

I think the 1.6 is a dope swap into that FB. However it DOES need boost. Megasquirt and boost it, then i can only imagine the fun you will have in the dirt with it.

per Rally America's rules, i can't run a turbo car for about three to four events. So in the meantime, it has to be NA. That and then the turbo adds some over heating concerns.

Fixing that heater core exit pipe to actually plumb somwhere might help. Dumping coolant onto the firewall is not a great way to keep the engine cool.



remove the a/c fan and seal up the radiator.

sarcasm noted, but there are not a/c fans. both are wired to run together. Radiator will be sealed but that isnt a priority since the engine hasnt started yet.
