Greetings...
Apparently, you run a very formal forum which requires a "meet and greet."
I have been on the miata.net and C6 forums for years. Had a 99 miata touring and sold it a few years back. My current dd is an '07 C6.
I found a '91 base model as a project with my son. It sat for 5 years before I got it. It is now running and driving.
This car will be a street driven toy. I am swapping in a '92 motor, RB 4-1 header, stainless exhaust, 1.8 torsen rear. I have a brand new 1.6 head I will be installing on the '92 motor. The AC stays.
I am considering the MS ecu and this forum seems to have good technical info, so here I am. My car will stay NA for the forseeable future.

Hey Maj, welcome to the forum. Where in Miami are ya? You will find that this forum is very different then most forums. The mods do a good job on keeping important info readly available. This forum isnt filled with threads like "key hole cover mod". This forum also has some of the funniest and smartest dudes around. I have an MS and I have to say it is very user friendly. I had no experience with any kind of engine management when I got mine and with the help of the forum I have learned alot. All you have to do is search and read. The best person locally to help you with MS is what miata? send him a pm and he will most likely help you out. He is very busy person though so be patient. PM me your email address and I will put you on the local email list. Theres lots of us around and we get together often.

There are few better ways to bond with your son than fighting, I mean installing, a turbochager. Everything is much more critical with a turbo than with a NA engine so think of all of the things it will teach your boy; fuel injection duration, ignition timing, air/fuel ratios, fastener technology (nuts and bolts) not to mention thermodynamics, fluid mechanics!
Look into the BEGi-S kit as the perfect compromise of a moderate challange with a very high liklyhood of success.

I know that is probably sacreligious here, but I lust after the look and sound of IRTBs.
My last hobby was motorcycles, and the thought of bolting on some motorcycle TBs or even (gasp) carbs w/ individual K&N filters gets me excited. My ZRX1200R made 134hp with a carb set-up. I'd be thrilled with that out of my 1600 Miata!

I did MS before ever going turbo...and found tuning very easy after getting over the inherent fear of something you've never done before.
I actually had a lot of fun tuning for both gas mileage and a little more umph while still NA. It surprised me how easy it was to meet and exceed stock drive-ability after a few datalogs and a little hand tuning of accel and warm-up enrichments.
Oh yeah...I envy your daily driver. I thought enthusiasts didn't drive those. Around here all I see behind the wheel are middle aged blondes or old guys, and neither will give me a good run (like I'd keep up anyhow).
