Noob from MA
Hey everyone
I'm finally getting around to posting an intro thread. I picked up a 91 Miata about 3 months ago (April 30th to be exact) which was completely stock aside from an autopower rollbar. It is in great shape with no rust and had about 117k mi when I bought it (almost 120 now). I got right to work doing basic maintenance stuff (new hawk hps pads, rotors, goodridge lines, cas oring, valve cover gasket, shift boots, etc). Also I had the car lowered on tein basic coilovers with ISC racing tophats and some cheap sportmax wheels. I know sportmax isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I like the way they look which is saying a lot considering I hate most cheap wheel designs out there. I also threw in a new kenwood headunit and some pioneer premier components since the PO had a shitty sony headunit with even shittier sony speakers. Aside from the rspeed front lip, just about everything was done within one month of ownership.
I then decided to buckle down on spending since I'm off of work for the summer (getting my masters degree, only 3 more weeks!). But I came across a pretty good deal on a greddy turbo kit (the one that falcon was selling, found here https://www.miataturbo.net/showpost....39&postcount=1 ) so I ordered that with the swiftness along with:
-brain diypnp
-rx7 550cc injectors (might be overkill for the greddy kit but I will have headroom in the future when I inevitably upgrade)
-cx racing fmic and piping
-a couple other misc things
The things I have yet to order are:
-exhaust (most likely going to have Abe fab me up a 3")
-innovate lc1
-some sort of boost gauge and pod (I was thinking a vdo for the cheapness)
-bov (a friend of mine is selling an rfl for like $20 so I'm most likely getting that)
-new clutch (I'm torn between the ACT HD and FM level 1, I already picked up a 1.8 flywheel as well)
-potentially new fuel pump, not sure what my stock one is capable of so I will read up on that
Here are some pics of the car along with my buddy Paul's (I think Dragula is his username on here, he just picked up a begi s5 kit)
(these pics were taken a month after I owned the car lol)
the day before I rolled my fenders and put the sport max's on
Here's the valve cover I just recently installed, had it powdercoated.
oh, and here is my daily driver: an 07 335i (vishnu procede piggyback, milltek catback, injen dci, forgestar f14 wheels with hankook v12's, bilstein pss9's, matte black grills and window trim, couple other little things)
