Hello...I'm a new member...got a 2003 Miata with VVT with a Flyin Miata stage 1 turbo I installed...just purchased but haven't yet received a DIYAutoTune Miata 2001-2005 MS3Pro PnP Plug and Play ECU. There's alot of info out there, but can't seem to find much on my particular parts combination..I hope to get help from you folks once I start the install. In the meantime, I'm glad I found you.

Man, it's been a while (10 years?) since I saw an FM system. But goddamn, they finally got their CARB EO back!

The specifics of the underlying hardware (turbo, manifold, intercooler, etc) are fairly irrelevant when it comes to tuning up a Megasquirt for a particular application. There seems to be just as much variance from one car to another as there is between turbo kits at this point. Bear in mind that most of these engines are old enough to vote at this point, and they've all developed their own personalities.

Since it's FM, we can assume that the basic mechanical parts are sound. What are you plans regarding fuel delivery?

Do you have a wideband O2 sensor already?

Right now, I still have the stock injector setup, but am open to a future upgrade. I do have a wideband O2 sensor installed with an air/fuel ratio gauge on the A pillar as well as a boost gauge. Once I get the ECU hardware, I'll be looking at all the internet info as well as relying on the DIY AutoTune installation info. Any help or suggestions/tutoring will be greatly appreciated.

Hello...I purchased the Flyin Miata stage one turbo with an adjustable crank trigger wheel that allows for 4 degrees of advance (6 on the timing scale) and 8 degrees of retard (18 on the timing scale.) If I align the crank pulley notch at TDC, and align the trigger wheel to TDC, the notch in the trigger wheel aligns with 10 on the timing scale, which is the stock trigger wheel alignment. This is without any advance or retard. Can I do this using Megasquirt PNPPro-MM0105 TunerStudio to get my base timing, or do I need to buy the Flyin Miata 36-2 trigger wheel?

Since you have a Megasquirt, you absolutely do NOT need the aftermarket adjustable timing wheel. That thing is seriously obsolete tech, from the days when the stock ECU was the only choice for NBs.

With the MS, you have full, complete control over the ignition map.

The fact that you're asking this question concerns me somewhat, as to whether you've done your homework and really have a grasp on what it takes to safely & reliably tune up a forced-induction system with a (relatively) complex aftermarket ECU.
