New Guy, Hampton VA

Hey, so I'm new to this site. I'm 22 years old and own a 94 Miata on it's way to being a track vehicle. Joined this site for better technical information and maybe the opportunity to pick some brains.

I don't really have pictures just yet but I'll get them soon enough, currently traveling. But here's the mod list.

Xida Coilovers
Bride 111 bucket (FIA)
Maxim Header
HKS Super Drager exhaust (I also have an odd RSR exhaust I'll be trying out later on down the road. No one seems to have ever seen it before. I have pics of this however)
Lorber 15x7s for daily use
Bronze 6ul 15x8 for track with RS3s (open to suggestions for tire choice).
Hard dog single diagonal
TSIs (although I don't really want to keep those... look kinda stupid).
Cusco FTB

up coming is an all ally Rad, although I don't see myself ever needing 55mm as I'll be sticking to NA (and from what I've read, the SM guys run the OEM rad without much issue, so upgrading the rad isn't a huge priority. Still black).
New rad piping is a priority however.
coolant reroute kit
ducting for the radiator
ECU, Probably looking at MS2 PnP.
Still deciding on what intake to get. Also toying with the idea of making my own.
Still need to do more research on if I either want to go with the Butterfly brace from FM or just get doorbars for chassis stiffness.

And that's pretty much it, nothing extremely fancy or overboard. I just want to know more about local events and track days and try to get on the track as often as possible to improve.

Thanks guys!

Looks like you've pretty much got it all under control...
Up until this last part.

Don't get stupid.

Do both. You won't be disappointed.

(source: i have both, one before the other, both is best)

I've heard too many mixed stories from "first hand accounts" from individuals. Many say the butterfly brace makes getting door bars redundant, others say getting a good door bar setup tied with your rollbar makes getting the butterfly brace useless.

I'm all for maximizing my dollar for performance honestly. If the gains from doing both is negligible, I'd rather just do the one that has the better impact.

I've only driven a Miata with doorbars (it was the Moti rollbar w/ doorbars) and it felt outstandingly sturdy.

No offense, I trust you.. but I'll verify.

Well i will say.

I do NOT have a roll bar, and have zero plans on getting one.

I originally got a buttefly brace, and it made things about 40%(if i had to put a silly number on it) better than stock. Then i did the door bars, with the combined it made it more 100% better than stock. I can hear the interior and unibody creaking while going in and out of a driveway, where i didn't before.

I will also say that i've retained the factory R package suspension.

If you can incorporate door bars into a roll bar, i would do that. That's like a 2/3rds cage at that point.

I'll still be traveling, but this is exciting! I had no idea how active that area was. If there is another, I'll gladly make it!

Yeah, apparently so. If you have any questions, feel free to ask or look at my build thread.
