Default Hiya from Sacramento, CA

Hey everyone. I'm here because somehow I got into my head that I should get a 2nd car for HPDE tracking. My current car/DD is a B7 Audi S4 (the gas-hog 4.2L V8). I love it, but want something smaller, lighter & that can even save me gas & adding too many miles to the S4. I originally wanted a Lotus Elise, but have since decided I might be too ---- & concerned about crashing it, that I wouldn't have much fun with it. So it seems I should consider a NA/NB Miata turbo. I'm here to lurk & learn from you all. Because I have no clear idea what I want, yet.

Welcome. If the car is going to be a daily I'd say you should go for an NB, especially since your use to the nice interior S4.

Thanks, everyone.

18psi, what part of town you in? I'm in EG.

Gearhead_318, why so? I don't mind dd'ing a lesser interior, it might just make me enjoy my S4 more when I do drive it. Better reliability, maybe? Dunno how far I may take the Miata... I could possibly end up stripping it down LOL...

I'm pretty confadent in the relyability, I just like the way the NB's interior looks over the NA, it's a little more modren. If your gonna strip it down though, I'd go NA.

^ Thanks for the side-by-side pics. Yeah, the NB is much nicer. At this point, it's more of trying to not spend too much on car, so I can spend on upgrades. Just depends on what I can find out there. I also prefer the body of the NB. Now if I can find a good NB with goodies already added....that'd be ideal.

I'd love to check out a meet too. See what all you've got.
