Hey everyone! My name is Drew, I am new to this forum but I have had my Miata for about a year now. I have been active on ClubRoadster for about 3 years under the same username. I live in Snohomish, Washington. I'm 20 years old and I am a grocery manager at Haggen, I am also a college student at Cascadia Community College. I have no idea what I'm going to school for, I'm just getting all the easy stuff out of the way before I declare a major.
I have owned two Miatas, the 96 that I have now, and my first car which was a 92 mariner blue! I had extremely huge plans for my first Miata but funds did not allow any modifications to be done. After working my way up at work and earning a few pay raises I am now ready to get serious about putting together a turbo setup! In April of last year I purchased my current Miata from a high school friend for $2500. It's a Brilliant Black 96. I purchased it with 126,000 miles on the clock, a ripped soft top and some awful XXRs that I rocked for far too long. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1453631350 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1453631350 The first thing I did was replace the soft top with a brand new Robbins top, and then I ordered some Tein Street Advance Coilovers. I purchased some APR universal mirrors, a Sparco steering wheel with an NRG quick release and hub, an ebay lip and skirts, and some CBY replica AE86 fender flares. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1453631350 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1453631350 I picked up a hardtop a few months ago, put the fender flares on, and got myself some Project-G parts... https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1453631350 Cleaned out and rhinolined the interior https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1453631350 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1453631350 After riding on the Tein's for a while I got tired of them and decided to treat myself with some Fortune Auto 500 series coilovers. Best upgrade I've done by far, I would highly recommend them! I also picked up a Sparco Sprint and another set of rep wheels... So that brings us to how she sits now! I'm very happy with the progress I've made with the car in the short 10 months that I have owned it. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1453631350 I began taking baby steps towards the turbo setup last week by ordering an AEM wideband. My next step will be Megasquirt! From ricecar to racecar!! :yippee: |
Got your flame suit ready?
|
I dig the headlight!

Your style is not on my like list, but I love the black. And it kinda makes up for everything else. Interested on how those LED headlights work out. Led brlinkrs too?
A MK Turbo setup would compliment this car nicely :bigtu: |
I think those wheels look great too. A bit of dish works well with flares in my opinion.

Thanks guys! And I don't need a flame suit, it's okay if people don't love my car. I'm building it because it makes me happy! Looking forward to learning a lot from you guys and everyone else here! As for the headlights, they are awful. I'm just too lazy to put the stock units back in haha. The turn signals are Jass performance TSIs.

Welcome, Drewby. Check out the Miata Gallery and post up some pics!

Just picked up a used Megasquirt today and my wideband came in the mail, it's like Christmas morning! :-)

Installed my wideband and I've been messing with the megasquirt a bit. Finally got myself a roll bar so I had to do a topless 2 AM drive after work!
