Default Hello from Nar in NorCal

Greetings fellow turbo-spooling Miata drivers. I am Nar. I have no cats, but I kinda like cats (just in case it's a secret prerequisite to join this forum).

I am a longtime car enthusiast/driving enthusiast/racing enthusiast. I used to be a Thunderhill HPDE driving instructor, drifting judge/coach, auto-x and rally-x competitor. My current Miata project is my 2nd Miata and my 30th car project to date. Mostly before Miata's I owned rotary-powered Mazda's.

Here is my Miata presently... needs a paint job, but recent dyno-tune and wideband replacement have been a bigger priority.

I appreciate the welcome! I was just checking out your turbo plan thread... I'll be at MRLS as well. Is your NB ready to do any laps yet?

Im just trying to make this forum more of a less hostile/friendly place. Are you doing any Hotlaps? My car isn't ready yet. I just need to get the turbo, mani, and downpipe and I'm good to go.

I'm gonna try but all the hot lap spots are sold out already. Maybe I can buy a spot from someone who cancels hopefully. 😕

Stay tuned to my build thread. If I can't get an ecu or my parts installed and tuned in time, i'm not going.

I have run group D hot laps for both days, and the party, and meet.

Well I hope you do manage it, but if it doesn't work out I'll be down to buy a spot. Thanks for the heads up

Someone clipped me on a freeway onramp and spun-me into a guardrail this morning. I was unharmed but this Miata is basically totaled. The jerk who did this sped off before I could catch his plates and no one else would stop and act as my witnesses; great world we live in nowadays... My plan is to swap over all my parts into another shell... it will take some hard work but I should manage to get a new car ready for Miatas-at-Laguna-Seca in October.

Hope you get a clean new chassis Nar. I forgot to ask you earlier, are you going for a 1.6 or a 1.8 for the next car?

I'm gonna keep it 1.6 only because my turbo kit is CARB legal for 1.6 only.

Sorry to hear about your car. I've been T-boned, totalled, and clipped and fine... Hope you were as lucky

If you think you can still make MMRLS, Sunday free'd up. Most run groups are open. (at least they were yesterday, haven't checked today)

Welcome Nar, it's Matt. Still so sorry about your Miata. If you need any help let me know and we will get the next one ready for October.
