New member and newly boosted

I have been enjoying researching on this site and just recently signed up. I have a 93 LE that I have had since March of 2005. Recently I just completed doing a forged bottom end build due to a recurring head gasket leak and in anticipation of going to the boosted life. I kept the stock 1.6 motor and went with .5 mm overbore to clean up the cylinder walls. I used Manley H-Beam rods, Wiseco 8.6:1 pistons, Wiseco XX rings gapped for moderate boost, ACL race rod and main bearings, ARP head studs, Cometic head gasket, Supermiata coolant reroute, radiator, and clutch, new valves, Innovative 60A durometer polyurethane motormounts, and Moroso catch can. While I had the engine apart, I went ahead and drilled and tapped for an oil return line. For the time being I am still rocking the stock VLSD differential and have a JO Motorsports race 5 speed.

I had recently rebuilt my suspension using SuperPro poly bushings all around and including for the power steering bushings, Racing Beat sway bars (with the Supermiata mount brace) and Fat Cat motorsports Bilstein's with KBO (curb blow off) and ripple reducer using 600# front and 450# rear springs. With all of that, the only thing missing was power.

After a lot of looking, asking and lurking I decided to go with a turbo and thought I would ultimately be happiest with the Flyn' Miata stage 1 kit. When I saw their new manifold at Miatas at the Gap last year, I decided I wanted to go with their kit. My guess is routing intercooler piping on a car with power steering and AC is never going to be the easiest, but after much fiddling and trimming and clocking the turbo I found a combination I was good with. Just getting accustomed to the new setup, but having a stock feeling car with that power curve is quite a lot of fun so far.

Sweet setup, awesome car! Super classy.

Thanks so much for the responses. I have been doing some interior cleanup along the way, mostly seat leather and I had Brandon Bishop restore my MSSS1 stereo. Primarily I have built it for tight and twisty mountain roads, but I was so tired of drag racing everyone when I finally got to a passing zone. Those minivans were stealing my lunch money...

Well the exterior looks great. Honestly this is one of the more "sleeper" looking builds I've seen on here. Care to post any interior pics?

How many miles on the car?

Thanks very much, I wanted it to be sneaky. I even have my Wideband and boost gauge in the glove box, so only visible when I open the glove box. It has 198,935 Miles as of last night. The engine build I just finished in August just before MATG and the suspension I had just finished in January of 2023. The suspension was a little high in this image before I settled on the lower (closer to stock R-spec) ride height.

That's a sweet car overall! I dig the interior too. Nice job.
