Hi,

Just did a straight swap. My 96 240sx with Ka-t for a 96 miata (base model) with a hardtop, suspension work, wilwoods, wheels and tires, etc. Also included in the deal was a BEGI mani and DP, 440 injectors and a GT25r turbo, and 2.5 exhaust. I have a Greddy EMU from a buddy for free as well.

Enjoying the car NA for now, then looking to put turbo on over the winter and spring. No rush. Goal is a fun, reliable turbo car for summer and the occ auto-x/lapping day.

Have some experience bolting up a turbo to the KA24DE in my 240sx, but I am sure I will need the resources and help on this forum in the near future.

TTL,

minetaro

How comfortable are you with the EMU, or are you planning on having it professionally tuned?

Not many run it, so getting help on it will be more difficult.

yeah, never used the EMU. It looks a little complicated, but might be worth it. I was thinking of using a premade harness, a wide band and then having a go at tuning myself. Alternatively there is at least one dyno tuner locally with a good reputation. I think he knows how to tune using EMU. I will have to research it. It might be better to just go MS PnP. Seems like that is the hot ticket. It will come down to pricing.

I tuned my low boost 240sx with a piggy back (just fueling with an SAFC). It was pretty straight forward, but I know that lack ignition control was a real weakness.

I also have access to an EBC, and also some defi gauges (but no controller).

Trying not to spend too much on this car.

BTW, my daily driver is a 2005 legacy GT wagon, stage 2.

The MS will be more expensive (unless you want to build it yourself, then it will be quite a bit cheaper) but much more capable. You could easily build yourself an MS3x and have money left over from selling the EMU, or for a bit more than you will get for the EMU you can have Braineack or Reverant build one for you or get one from DIYAutotune.

I'm just waiting on the GM IAT sensor to install my Reverant built MS3.

I'd sell the EMU, right away.

Put money towards Megasquirt so the forum can better help you if you run into problems.

Not to mention, more powerfuller = more betterer

Listen to me, for i am The King of BandAids.
