own a 1.6l 90 mazda miata. goal is 280+whp in a gutted street car
currently sitting on jackstands
has a custom 6 point cage x brace kidney bars, harness bar. was done in sarasota florida.
motor was pulled mid may, block taken to machine shop. hot tanked, shot peened,re honed. i also had the stock pistons ultrasonically cleaned.

ordered a fresh cyclinder head from clearwater cyclinder heads in florida.
got some great quality parts from Jsc speed, 949racings, Tossan Auto Saloon

Arp main studs/arp head studs/arp2000 rod bolts
eagle rods
clevite race bearings/thrust washers
itm oil pump
gates water pump
gates kevlar timing belt
gates kevlar drive belt
rx7 purple top 550cc
ms2 v3board built by j perez
custom coolant reroute
.80mm cometic headgasket
bignose crankshaft
bignose pulley/key
flyin miata happy meal clutch kit flywheel
toyota cops
ngk two steps colder plugs
mishimoto thermostat
auto throttle body
garret t25 pictured, but using a t28

motor is on a stand built, car is on jackstand just finished pulling diff and ladder brace out. tonight i will be getting the subframe out of rear and off to powdercoat we go!

All suspension parts have been bead blasted and coated with engine enamel and or powdercoat. all bushings were burned out, using a press was way to much work compared to using the ol' torch. just be careful with the heat.
energy bushings were used.

my project continues on, working on the bay right now and trying to source a six speed transmission and 1.8l rear/axles/driveshaft. cant wait to get this thing to the paint booth over at mcgregor autobody in ft myers! nissan 40th anniv grey is the idea.

have to thank my friends that have helped me so far
mike anderson,chris serio,matt martir,clayton blackwell,matt lemphier,derek knoth,damien and jason penny, matt pommell.

hey thanks for viewing

bro you need to relax. I was simply making an observation. your build looks good, even if your woman don't.

Look here stupid noob, I said it nicely. If you think you can mouth off like that around here you'll very soon find out thats not how things go. We don't cater to a bunch of stupid a$$ punk bitch pre-teens who jump in swinging thinking its going to earn them respect.

So you can either heed my warning and stop fucking spamming with stupid **** like
hahaha lol
or you can be ridiculed, then banned.

You want to take the red pill or the blue pill?
And no I won't go f*ck myself, I'm too tired from gaping your mother. She shoulda used the coat hanger on your downs a$$.

Let's be honest here. Pusha started it and you jumped in late. This guy didn't pull the first rabbit punch, one of our own did, so ease up, ok? Let's play nice.

I think he gets props for building an engine correctly, for using a proper ECU, for not coming in here asking a bunch of stupid questions, and for posting a rather complete intro thread with pictures, details, and his location. That is quite rare around here with the new guys and I appreciate it. I'm looking forward to the future of this build and what becomes of it.

What do you plan on doing with the car when you finish building it (please say trackday racing at Sebring, Homestead, PBIR, and such)?

Didn't know Ft. Myers was considered "south florida".

A cage consists of more then a roll bar with "kidney bars". DCW is the bomb though. He did my cage like a week after your bar.

Mike, you need to calm down before you get yourself banned.

Also, why all this and still use stock pistons?

@18psi wow, youre a internet cowboy.. cool story.
@sixshooter thanks man, I planned on taking it to Homestead,Sebring , and Pbir.
Motor is built in garage, working on the engine bay at the moment. Pulling out seam sealer, wire wheeling everything. Next week I plan on spot welding everything.

This entire week I've scrubbed the trans tunnel and underneath of car with purple power and scuffed everything, used 3m underbedding stuff $11.20 a can ouch!

projectg lexan window for hardtop looks pretty awesome need just a few more parts for the build. Im just around the corner from paint.

@kyle Ft Myers is considered southwest Florida. Oh no banned..I'll live..
yea stock pistons ultrasonically cleaned with .80 mm headgasket to lower comp. whats your input? I've just realized I'll be settling with using a t25 I have first I have had no luck finding a t28. I'd be happy with 250whp reliable.
And caged seems appropriate term for a Roll bar xbrace w Kidney bars. But if you like I'll write it out for you from now on, Roll bar xbrace kidney bars, no cage. DCW is overpriced but nice. Wasnt entirely happy with end result. Rear bars dont sweep back far enough for my liking. Dan and I are in disagreements over it.

Welcome to here, Mike. FWIW, I consider it South Florida, too. And I'm in Central just like Orlando is. I'm going to be driving at a Sebring trackday Saturday with a group called ERME if you get bored.

I picked up my Chinese 2870 turbo on ebay for $250 and it works fine. There are plenty of guys running Chinese ebay turbos for years and years on the forum. Nothing to fear.

I guess I think of south as south of the Alley. I can live with southwest... lol

I'm the believer of spending the extra $400 and have far less chance of burning a hole in a piston. You a 3rd of the way there buying the silly gasket.

Dan mentioned something about a miscommunication about using your glass softtop which is why the down bars were made so shallow. I feel your pain, the way he built my door bars I can't use a stock seat on the passenger side. I can't blame him, I never told him I planned to do that and he built it around the seat I was using for the drivers side. And his prices are very competitive for the quality of construction he puts out.

Mike, since you plan to run it hard, you might look into adding a stock 1.8 oil/water oil cooler to help carry away the heat. Every little bit helps when making 3 times more heat than stock. Your engine is purty.
