Default Lurkers intro

Good afternoon, my name is Mitch. Been lurking off and on for a while contemplating boosting my 97. Well, my fifth child was born this last December which led me to pass on the 85 GSLSE to a collector and rid myself of maintenance of the RX8. Brings me to now. Currently 4k into what was suppose to be a 2600 turbo build. You guys know how that happens. Anyway, not much of a poster.

Cats don't last long around here. Seven humans and a yellow lab.

I'm sure there is an inside joke, I'll catch up.

Welcome to the forum.

It sounds like you have your hands full with the kids. Have you figured out what causes that yet?

You didn't tell us where you are from. It looks flat.

What are your plans for the car?

It sure does have big wheels.

Anyway, welcome!

Live in North East Iowa. Fairly flat here with many straight roads

Yep, well aware of the cause. Should have vetted the Dr that tied her tubes better but much worse things could happen than having kids ha.

Currently waiting for parts but so far the list is:

BEGI-S kit
Water to air intercooler with Bosch pump
AEM wideband
Walbro pump (more for precaution, replacing the original)
Boost gauge
Bells FMU
ACT clutch
Sure I'm forgetting something but plan to start at 6psi and improve from there...... Down the rabbit hole sooner or later to bigger injectors and standalone but for now, just learning.

Honestly didn't think the 16" wheels would look that big. Wanted to fill the wheel well a bit and my dads NB has 16's.

Return the FMU and look into a used MS2 or something. How long have you been waiting on parts?

edit- why water to air?

I've not been waiting long, two weeks. Everything is here with exception of Bell kit. I'll jump on a MS if a deals pops.

No reason in particular for W to A. Been following a guys Cosmo restore for a while and liked the idea. All I've read, they seem to be efficient and I'm a bit different myself ha.

I've read that Bell can be slow to make parts, I'll give them the benefit.... Besides, I'm in not hurry.

Owned 14 Rotary powered cars, so yeah, bit different.

A new MS 2 is only a few more dollars, and will control a few more things than an FMU, if you can tackle it.

That is good value. One thing I lack is spare time. One of those instances of more money than time so I'd probably buy one plug and play.
