hello there was referred to this site from a dude named flier129 on tennspeed.
im from middle tn just south of nashville bout to turn 21 in a few weeks. bought a 99 mx5 a few months ago with some gay konigs (will trade if interested) since ive had it ive done a synthetic oil change, plugs/wires, intake made from IC piping, and a cxracing rad. from my old 240. looking to get a little power nd fun out of my car but not lookin to drop a lot of money on it. itll be way more of a dd for the next few years.. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1321308306 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1321308306 Im having the notorious crankshaft pulley wobble problem. so ive ordered a cheap no name lightweight pulley off ebay for 40 bucks to replace. i realize some people have had problems out of em but im hurtin for money right now and cant spend much on one. so while im down there im gonna replace the 4 bolts holdin the acc. pulley on as well as the woodruff key and front main seal most likely. but as of right now my car wont start. i drove from IA back yesterday no problems. get home and it will turn over fine but not start. recent work ive done is the rad. as well as a new alt from a vvt motor. replace the belt as well. ive also added another battery. was lookin to mod this motor and let it breathe a lot better. but not looking to add much power for now. maybe turbo down the road but for now most im considering is cams. looking for coilovers/wheels a header and exhaust(resonator instead of cat. possibly) but will most likely straight pipe all the way back.. no money for a muffle for now. enjoi the kitty :-) http://www.drunkhollywood.com/images/bs/britneyp-2.jpg |

Crank wobble on a 99? Replacing the pullie with a non dampened one will not fix the problem. It could make it worse.
Welcome, hope it works out for the best. |
im thinkin the rubber inside has gone bad. i look at it at idle and it wobbles pretty good. at higher than 1000 it spins easily on the same axis.
so i figure with a more solid pulley it should act normal, not tear up any belts, and hopefully even gain a little power(or at least enough to feel a difference) |
Welcome, fiesty farts!

They have awesome buyer protection, just say the part won't work and you want your money back. Then go and buy a nice stock one, and put it on there. :) Oh, and welcome. I am originally from around Bristol TN. Where are you at? |
Welcome! Where in middle TN you at? I'm in Murfreesboro myself

welcome from knoxville; the western edge of miata heaven
dubious association calling out flyer129; you run the dragon with marcus or something send baron340 a PM, he has lots of spare/extra parts including oem crankshaft pulley |
Welcome, I'm over in Lebanon/Mt.Juliet. If you need help with the main seal let me know. I have the FM tool that makes install easy as hell. +1 on not using that Ebay pulley, you'll regret it. I swear I remember seeing that car in the craigslist.

btw - if those gay wheels are a bother I have a set of 2000 LS wheels, no rash, if you want to trade even
