hello all,
my name is Jessie i live in Boise Idaho i am currently building an FE-DOHC that is going to be turbo'd, nitrous, and methanol injection fed. from everything i have heard from people on mx6.com the bottom end hasn't been pushed to it's breaking point yet. so after reading that i thought ok well i am going to do my best to get the most power out of the full stock engine with new bearings/seals/gaskets.
now before everyone start's flaming on this post. the nitrous and meth are going to be on a window switch in small quantities, and starting on about 10 to 15psi eventually hoping to bump the boost to 25psi.
the FE-DOHC is going into my (FD3S) 94 Mazda RX7 i got tired of the rotary for the mean time, at least until i can save up enough to build a decently ported 20b turbo.
anyway that's about it for now that i can think of.
thanks
Jessie

yes the FE3 is the FE-DOHC, just another "name" for it i guess.
i have read that the SSAutochrome manifold is crap but also have read that it is good. but the main reason why i am after it is for clearance of my steering. and i love the way it looks. i have been trying to hunt one down and have so far been unsuccessful.

Dude, that manifold is ****. Any ebay mani is ****, except the few good cast log manifolds out there. I don't know if they even still make them.
You either need a custom piece or a decent quality OTS manifold that will work. But I figured since you can swap an engine, slapping together a manifold yourself can't be much harder. Right?

i get that they were made with **** quality and all, but the main reason i want one is for the style/design. i was planning on building my own but i wanted the dimensions and having one in person is way easier to ref. off of. the only difference in the appearance of the manifold that i would make based on the SSAutochrome is the wastegate flange would be moved to the collector because i have enough space for the wastegate to fit on the side, and it would have better flow.

The manifold you linked to is, indeed, a piece of ****.
Please save yourself the frustration and trouble and get a decent-quality part, especially if you really are shooting for the moon, power-wise.
