<This guy is a cheapskate and did it with mostly used/Chinese parts, so he knows.

I'll start looking for a 94 then. Someone said they knew some. I live in the norfolk virginia area.

This is the cheapest one in the year ranges I have found. I am requesting more information on it now. I'll give more information when he replies to my email.

See, this is the kinda stuff you need to know before you attempt to do ANYTHING.

Put away the wallet, turn off Craigslist, and start educating yourself before you do something really foolish and fail.

PS: no, they're not.

I have to applaud you for making it this far with the comments you've been receiving without storming out in rage. Though it was entertaining to flip through the first 4 pages, I'm glad that you're finally starting to listen :)

Make sure you google things before you ask any question that might sound silly to MT guys...Good luck finding the right miata!

Better off buying an unmolested 94+...

I can find them reliably for 2200-3500.

Unless you're dying to burn time and money. The rear end on the 1.6's are ok... they are prone to failure above stock power. Also if it's a short-nose crank then that's a loose cannon. Maybe good maybe not... Bigger brakes on the 94+ etc... I bought a 90 and now have a 90 with a 99 motor and 2003 rear end. blah blah blah. Not a platform I'd like to start with unless It was practically given to me for free.

Here we are back to post #12 again.... lol.

Ask me how I know all of the above. It's NOT from reading anything on this forum...

I blew out my clutch within a week of turbo, i blew out my rear end within 2 weeks of turbo. There are lots of parts you aren't considering like the stupid shifter condom. that shit's like ~$50.

Start with a better platform. It'll cost a lot less TIME and MONEY. It will also give you a car that is a lot nicer and easier to take pride in. Unless you're a freak like Jeff and love taking apart every part on the car and cleaning it.
