New from WI, 1996 Montego Blue Miata (Boosted)

Hey everyone just thought I would check in and introduce myself. My name is Jake I live in the Waupaca/ Fox valley area of WI. Welcome aboard.

Nice car and nice intro!

Looks like you're having a lot of fun there!

Nice. I like your wheel choice. This montego Blue is a very hard color for me to work with. I can't decide what will look good with it since it is always changing color. I was leaning towards something bronze but who knows.

96 Montego Blue Miatas!

Welcome to here.

sixshooter 04-14-2010 02:08 PM

'96 Montego Blue here also. But Rafa's looks better than mine.

And buddy, you just can't throw out there that you are 3ft 9in tall and leave it at that. I have no reason to doubt you other than the fact that this is the internet and one in three assertions made online are fabrications. I dated a girl who was 4ft 10 and I can't imagine you being a full foot shorter than her. You did say that you were a troll, did you perhaps mean dwarf? Forgive my impetuousness, but I am insanely curious. Do you have any pictures of you with your new car other than driving it?

Too much ADHD and coffee...

And welcome. You have done quite a lot of good things already.

We need pics! You must come to the top of the A-pillar. *Stands in office with eyes closed and moves hand up and down, estimating pillar height.* Let's face it, you wouldn't have posted it if you didn't want us to ask. The visual perspective of you standing next to your car would pose quite a head scratcher for everyone that thinks Miatas are tiny.

touge4life 04-14-2010 04:02 PM

Troll as in a forum troll, someone who just creeps around and never posts.

You guys are in luck with the height comparison photo, I just got one randomly at the track this past weekend.

Me being a weirdo.

I think you're going to fit right in with us. :giggle:

You have the appropriate sense of humor.

BTW, my wheels are some Japanese (made in Taiwan) 16" wheels I found locally. I then painted them a light gold color because I had the same issue you mention with the color of the car. I'm waiting to get a ticket one of these days from a cop that insists the car is green and not blue as it states in the title.

sixshooter 04-14-2010 05:07 PM

Awesome! Your sense of humor/attitude is pure win! And you are doing the right things to your car in the way of modifications as well.
Welcome.

Edit: BTW, what you described as a troll we call a lurker. The trolls are the ones that lay in wait for opportunities to be malicious or evil.

Welcome dude. Beautiful car! Sounds like lots of fun too.

mgeoffriau 04-14-2010 05:24 PM

Nice looking car, very clean and well sorted out. Front looks kind of high, though -- might be the angle of the pic, but looks like it could be dropped a little.

gospeed81 04-14-2010 05:33 PM

That's the OBX exhaust? How do you like it? Vids?

And is that pic of you durriiifffting through the corkscrew?

Ahhhh, dude! I'm 6'1", ~210#, I'm sure you fit in the goddamn car a lot better than I do! BRB, I got a pic or two to contribute.

webby459 04-14-2010 10:33 PM

The wife's '96 Montego, base n/a. FM 2.5 KYB AGX suspension, a little brake work, and Kumho XS on Kosei K1. I tracked it before I got my turbo, love the montego!

I tried to lower the front more but this is just about as low as the Sleeves go. The have maybe 3-4 threads till bottom, I didnt think that would drop it to much. Also there were little black screws blocking the coil from going any lower, I suppose I could remove them.

Yes this is an OBX exhuast. While I "Lurked" for about a year in the Miata relm, I looked through tons of exhuast options. Suprisingly the OBX was one of my top choices. Comming from someone who hates loud, ricey sounding exhuasts I was suprised I chose the OBX as a top pick. I can't complain about it, very quiet. It was weird how the car I ended up buying had one of the few exhuasts I liked one it.

I did buy the car pre-modifed. My original plan was to find a close to stock model and boost it myself. This was to good of a deal to pass up.

They generally are if one is honest with themselves on what it will cost to do it themselves.
