Hi there, got my 2002 Miata SE back in September. It was lightly modified with only a crappy exhaust and an AEM intake. When I got the car, I didn't even know how to row a stick.

I plan on working on suspension first (or maybe getting rid of that POS exhaust) before applying turbo. Thought this would be a good place to read up for it.

Completely in terms of mechanical knowledge, but I'm eager to learn. Don't have lofty goals of reaching 400whp or something; 180whp will do me fine. Gotta at least beat out them Caravans!

Welcome to the forum. Fill out your signature with your car and mods. See mine for an example. Needs more turbo.

That engine bay is so weird compared to what I'm used to.

Welcome to mt.net.

I see you have the highly coveted AEM "Hot Air Intake" and the elusive washer bottle pre-heater. Interesting...

Welcome and good luck.

Thanks for the welcomes. Just browsing the forums a bit makes me nervous that I am completely out of my depth. Lots of reading to do!

The first thing I have to do is to determine what, if anything, done by the previous owner I should keep. The car currently drones quite a bit even at cruising speeds. I'll probably replace it, as it is hanging poorly on the car as well.

[Edit]As for the location of the washer reservoir, I've been led to believe it's the stock location for Canadian cars. I guess that'll have to move?

You'll probably want to move it, unless you want to do some kind of weird submerged externally watercooled turbro setup.

Do the exhaust last. It is quick and easy. Otherwise you will be hearing a crazy loud exhaust for months.

Get the turbo done, the exhaust is like a 20min deal.

Welcome.
