Another lurker de-noobing himself...
Figure I'd finally post an intro to myself... I bought myself a shitbox 90 1.6 miata to get back into racing... I've owned turbo hondas, and a few subarus including my SM class STi that was stolen... :(
I love the car, but it needs t3h boost... So I recently just purchased:
1.6 Greddy manifold, turbo, oil lines, and elbows
TurboTony Downpipe
Tan Top Injectors
Vortech FMU
Heat Wrap for the downpipe
Trying to decide if I should get an o2 clamp or not, as I do a lot of mountain driving... Also just need to pickup a wideband, and a 3/8 barb for the return, and I think i'm ready to install..
I plan on running 5psi on the kit, and will be adding a bov because the wife wants the psshh sound
Am I forgetting anything here?

Quite a few actually... I'll give you the cliffs notes...
The day I brought it home...
Fixing the hail damage...
The start of painting it matte red with chalkboard paint..
More chalkboard red...
I ended up not particularly liking the way the chalkboard finish was going on, so I'm now in the process of vinyl wrapping the car... No pics until its done though...
My green for the money door panels... (The fabric was on sale... I couldn't resist)
My insulated floorboards to lessen the shwetty feet on those long summer drives...
All over New England & New York... I'd call it more "hills" than mountains... Not like i'm climbing pikes peak or Mt washington with this thing lol.
As far as the wife's mountains... Not yet... I don't put them out there for just anybody... You gotta earn the right to see those mountains..

No.. The awesome part is that it was $7 to do both doors.
If it were black, it would have been easier. It would also have been easier if i had a garage... The temps in new england just haven't been cooperating...
And I post pics of the wife on some forums... Once they earn the right..
Chalkboard paint is great. I have a spare trunk lid that's flat black, and have thought about tossing it on the car and riveting a bucket of sidewalk chalk to it so people could draw on it. But that could end badly lol.
Glad you have the sense not to post wifey pics

I'm going to build myself an MS one of these days, but for now with what i'm going to be doing with the car, at 4-5psi, it will be fine with the FMU...
I bought a wideband, and this isn't my first turbo rodeo, so I know if my foot is on the thin pedal and the wideband says 12.XXX or higher to let off... I also know if I hear marbles rolling around in the engine to let off too lol..
I think I may have a J&S safeguard laying around in a box somewhere too i can throw in..
I was also debating an MS sooner, but we just booked a cancun vacation in september, and then the next day found out we have termites lol.

I personally know 3 people that ran the greddy kits on FMU's for 2-3 years without issues... Then most of them typically did 1.8 swaps with MS..
We used to run FMU's on hondas years ago too for long periods of time without issues...
I see your point, and I know that MS is better... Hell, i've even tuned it (I was a honda/subaru ECU tuner in a former life), but right now, I just don't feel like doing it.
