Newbie from Seoul, South Korea. Turbo gurus~ Help me out plz!

Hello all.

It was quite hard to find cars on market, but finally i did buy one.

Right after that, I bought a traditional greddy TD04H bolt-on turbo kit (w/o intercooler one) from Japan auction several mths ago, but i haven't installed it on mine yet.

Because many others told me if I install the turbo the engine will be gone very soon. some said I need a intercooler and piston for turbos. Or at least adding head gasket to reduce pressure.

Here in S. Korea, there are around 100 na miatas only and very limitted info for putting on turbos..

I usally ride my miata at circuit and touges.. with high revs for a long time, so I got worried and worried while listenning their advice.

So gurus, here's my question: can I just use my greddy turbo kit or should I add other things for track usage?

I'll very appreciate your replies. :D

Thx for reading.

Teddy.

You should add other things for track usage.

^Agreed. Especially if you only have limited availability of parts.

hop on air asia and get some supertech pistons and mystery connecting rods and build your motor. then you'll have a lot more tolerance for bad advice and mistakes.

no need for anythign extreme like building the motor. But good engine management and an intercooler should be first on your list.

And upgraded radiator. Those should make a greddy kit fairly bullet proof... you'll also run out of injector fast if you turn up the boost. So consider injectors when adding the ECU in.

Welcome new guy. My best friend is currently back in Seoul. He won't be back in the states until the end of the year, so I may fly over this summer while I'm on that side of world anyway.

Good luck with your car. Take the advice seriously but make sure you wear your thick skin when you do.

What part of Korea are you in?

I lived in Seoul - Nowon Gu for two years. Plan on visiting this summer again.
