New guy from TX
Hi all,
I'm from Mount Vernon Texas, and have 3 miatas. One is my street car, a 1999 Silver NB (going turbo). I also have two Spec Miatas, a 1991 NA and another 1999 NB. Doing a full custom turbo setup on the street car (custom fabbed turbo mani, etc.). It needs more power and I want something different. I'm sure I'll be asking a ton of questions, since I've never gone from N/A to forced induction before. But I have experience with factory turbo cars. Anyway, pleasure to be here, and happy motoring to all.

Here's a couple of pictures. The silver car is my DD. 949racing wheels, full custom 3" exhaust, and that's all.....for now.:
The other picture is of me and my two race cars at the 2011 SCCA National Runoffs at Road America. I came in 10th out of 35 cars, and it was my first year of racing, so I was more than excited about that.
So there you are, my Miatas. The silver one is the one getting the turbo treatment. I left the turbo world after MANY headaches with my Porsche 944 turbos. Anyway, sore subject, so let's move on to my plan. I sourced a K26/6 turbo (call me crazy, I know how much of a bitch they are to find flanges for) that I had laying around, which I will use. I am in the process of making a turbo manifold for it, which is hard lol. It will be custom routed IC piping, FMIC, the normal stuff, and then I'm going to top it off with some Carillo H-Beam forged rods, mated to Wiseco forged pistons, and a forged crankshaft.
Many questions will be asked, but I will try not to pester too much.
Bond, I see you're from South Lake. Beautiful town.
Pitlab77, I'm sure you've seen track time at MSR Houston, no?

You should give The Drivers Edge a try for DE's. $295 for a full weekend. Includes classroom time, instructor, and 8 25 minute hot sessions. My best friends step dad owns it. Go to www.thedriversedge.net for more info. next event is at MSR Cresson, on the 3.1 mile track.
