Default Greetings from the UK

Hi guys and girls, I'm an idiot that can't stop tinkering and have just bought an '89 Eunos Roadster 1600.

I'm 23 and would like to think I've had a pretty wide variety of cars. Couple of '60s and '70s Triumphs, some boring cars, few turbo Saabs, an off roader or 2 and now this Eunos/MX5/Miata/Go kart. I seem to be losing power but gaining handling with my past couple of cars... About 2 months ago I had a 280hp/365ftlb 9000 turbo that was very rapid but would fall over if there was even the slightest bend in the road, then I got a 1988 900 turbo that is down to about 200hp/200ftlb which really does handle (just come back from the Nurburgring in it, Zonda want to use me as a pace car for there next lap record attempt) now I'm down to a piddley 115hp/100ftlb but in a car that really does get from point to point quicker than anything I've ever been in! But as turbo-ing it does seem so easy it would be rude not to :-)

Anyway that is me and this is the car...

Welcome to the board! Any thoughts on the kind of turbo set up you want to put in?

I had a 88 900 turbo.. Once you boost your miata, you will wonder why you didn't figure it out in the first place. Although that B202 engine was stout, and I made a little north of 300whp in my saab, you get into transmission destroying territory (I think that can happen on the stock T3 btw). The APC in those is a pretty great little boost control unit for 80's technology. Just boost your miata and you will be in love. Plus, a 200 whp miata is faster than a 300 whp c900 any day of the week. I like that SPG in your pic though.

If there was enough interest we could sort out some kind of Skittles group buy

I love my 900, it's called a T16S over here, Aero in other parts of Europe. This Roadster makes my Saab feel ancient in comparison, there only a few months between each car!

I'm not too bad at welding bits together so I feel like I could do it pretty cheaply. Got a spare T3 turbo off a 900 engine, although its pretty laggy in the 2 litre 900, what would it be like in a smaller 1600? The only thing thats not looking to easy to make myself is the manifold and I really don't fancy the look of any of the chrome jobbys on ebay. Seen a pretty solid looking cast one with T3 flange. Will chance that and see what happens with a 900 T3 turbo, whats the worst that can happen? :-P

I think the T3 is laggy on the saab engine because the APC controller keeps it from coming on so hard... I guess to save that trans. I ended up getting a holset on mine. That was laggier. I think braineack is running one, but I forget what size. I think he has the smaller one like the SAAB has.

I bought a Holset HX35 for my 9000 but chickend out fitting it! I was going to need a £500 clutch upgrade and suddenly decided I didn't want to go any faster!

Having read some stuff and spoken to a guy I know with a turbo Miata I think I'm going to need, 1.8 clutch and flywheel, 1.8 discs and callipers and a 1.8 LSD...

I guess this forum is full of these kind of questions but I'll ask anyway... T3 turbo, stock injectors, cheapy ebay FPR, cheapy ebay intercooler, what kind of power is realistically going to come from that?

I'm not after much, it's 114hp standard, theres a 421 Jasma manifold, de-cat sports exhaust, some ARC (I think?) induction kit, so it could be about 120hp right now... If I had 30hp more the car would be immense! 150hp isn't much is it?
