Default Newb w/a 10AE

Hello everyone, was referred to this site, figured boost may be in my future after I do everything else on my "list"

This is my DD so I can't go too crazy nor do I want to attract thieves in my garageless parking situation, here's my ride, not too special/modded. Saving $ for Stance coilovers/Bossfrog rollbar.

I mostly just try to have fun w/it mainly autoX this year. Hopefully I can really track it next yr.

Always nice to see another 10AE enthusiast. I enjoyed checking out your pics, you have some really nice shots there.

Beautiful car.

Welcome.

What are your goals on boost...and how far out.

If I could go back I would have seriously lined out suspension first. Start by calling Shaikh at Fat Cat Motorsports.

After that look into engine management before going turbo. Makes life easy.

Yeah to be honest boost if I do decide is likely the last thing I'll do.

Might get my rollbar in the next month, then suspension in the spring.

I change my mind soo much, FCM sounds like a winner but for the price I feel he's over-charging.....Since Stance is local to me I have a "hookup" so we'll see which way I end up going.

If I decide to pull the boost trigger, SC or TC is my next hurdle, I love the response of SC and most guys I autoX w/run them.

Ideally I'd think 220whp or so is perfect for me, even 170whp w/an SC will blow me away i'm sure....

I never thought of engine management before boost, i always thought those 2 went hand in hand and are done together.......

As you can see i have a lot to learn from this site

If you don't plan on getting much over 220whp...you can have instant boost. I'm at around 200whp with a little headroom and my tiny turbo could not possibly build boost faster. Very fun around town, lots of mid-range torque.

It's a LOT easier to get your engine management sorted out while normally aspirated...less chance of blowing things up. It was kind of nice having the MegaSquirt and injectors in and lined out before applying boost.
