Noob Alert - 404 just breached the perimeter
Hey Team MT.net,
I have been reading this forum for some time now and I must say I like the no nonsense approach with a blend of very experienced members. After sifting through many posts I have decided to join the community so that I can also contribute rather than just leech. This is my first MX5 as the last one was actually the wife's but I enjoyed driving it so much that when my AWD TX3 (Escort GT) blew it's second gearbox I thought enough is enough and proceeded to purchase a 1989 Eunos Roadster! The madness truly begins there. I will post up my build thread below. I am keen to learn and as I don't have much of a budget left for the car I will be looking at cheap ways to drop my lap times. Thanks, Gaz |

This car has cost me more time and dollars than sense, it is ridiculously painful to work on especially when it is on the ground and given that I will never escape the hairdressers car comments a lot of people would ask the question...Why?

Luckily I had some great advice from Leon at Beyond Custom who had highlighted the potential danger of my water lines over the turbo. While it was safe for day to day driving going hard on the track would result in those hoses cooking and bursting causing more heartache! https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1354323009 Given my lack of experience, early braking (trying not to end up like the Hasslehof) and considering I was running a maximum of 15psi on the day I know the car has quite a few more seconds left to drop. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1354323009 I thought I would also take the opportunity to get it on the scales and it came back at a heavy 1156kg track ready (with me in it) at half a tank. |
Excellent intro post. Slick looking setup, too.
