Hi everyone,

Bought my 2000 Base model a couple months ago and have been pretty much consumed with getting it back into shape from the PO.

New shocks and sway bars Front + Rear
General tune up + fluids
New wheels + tires

Car has 130xxx miles and is basically sound except for the usual Midwest fastener corrosion (I'd forgotten how much fun it is to get rusted bolts/nuts apart underneath a car on your back).

Future plans:

1. Replacement ECU (bought a used DIYPNP and trying to figure it out before installing... electronics aren't my strongest suit)
2. Either Turbo or SC... haven't completely decided yet.
3. Dissasemble, paint + rebush, reassemble suspension over the winter.
4. Drive, drive, drive....

Anyway, I've been amazed at the level of information I've gotten from this site and hope I can give something back.

Thanks.

Trying to get the alternator control sorted out before I install it. Like I said, electronics isn't my strength. I can wire + wrench but working with a breadboard and solder is over the top stuff for me.

yeah, thats common though... automotive performance has moved from bolting on, and pumping fuel and air, and making power... to tinkering and tuning with computers. Alot of mechanics even wont mess with electrical.... but soon, nobody will really have a choice. MS is a good system to learn with though... and any help you could possibly need with it, can be found through here, using the search bar (first and foremost) or asking a member (lastly, and only if youve actually researched, otherwise the fires of hell shall rain upon you, as the miata gods sit back and laugh while petting their kitty cats)
There are quite a few VERY knowledgeable guys on here, that have done it all with MS.

You don't need to solder anything, necessarily. Just need to know how to use a laptop.

That, I'm not bad at. I probably have way too much computer stuff lying around. Being self-employed makes you self-reliant.

Thanks.
