Welcome, ScottyP3821!

Looks like your Ex-girlfriend got to your hood. You went cheap on your clutch, I don't like your wheels. 1.8 FTW. Welcome to the site.

Welcome

Stg3 6 puck with lwfw - lol, hope you never get stuck in traffic

ScottyP3821 03-28-2013 12:32 PM

Yeah I got left out in some hail and now it looks like a fat girls ass. The six puck isnt bad in traffic. I had the same clutch in my 91 I sold and I liked it thus why I bought it again. My plan is to make about 230 at the wheels so the clutch should be fine. The trick to the six puck madness is always allow adequate space between the you and the person ahead of you and dont try to ride their ass in traffic. The clutch after break in allowes you to coast in first fairly well. Put it this way when I sold my 91 and got the 94 stock, I missed my 91. It started for me as a budget clutch and so I really didnt want to venture on an ACT when I have heard just as many horror storys of it squealing and slipping. I believe the major factor to maintaining a good clutch is breaking it in correctly. I put 1500 miles on mine before I rompt on it and I never dump the clutch over 3k from a stop. Im not a drag racer and I really dont see the point. The only downfall I had in the 91 1.6 was the flywheel was smaller and lighter which made it harder to downshift. The little bastard was like 9lbs I think and would drop rpm so damn fast. The 1.8 F1 flywheel is about 11 or 12lbs and seems to be a little better but still needs quick heel toe work. Anyways theres my rant about my SHIT clutch and flywheel.

Its all good. I dont like your motor or turbo set up. :vash2:

AlexL 03-28-2013 12:55 PM

You're not the only one. I'd much rather have a 94 1.8 with a cheap clutch.

Welcome Scotty! I'm in Lewisville as well, although my Miata isn't much to look at right now. Hopefully soon I will be able to fix it up.

Ok so I have a noob question I have searched and searched. I dont understand what/why/how turbo kitten or turbo's and cats came to be? Is everyone cat people or does it have to do with cats lying around playing inside turbo's on the self?

Ryan_G 04-05-2013 01:58 PM

Most of us are cat people. There is actually a forum rule regarding feline disrepect. It is strictly enforced.

karter74 04-05-2013 02:03 PM

Seriously, how is it there are so many people on a big forum in the same town?

From my count there are at least 4 people here in Lewisville, I've met one. (But, an epic individual at that)

hornetball 04-05-2013 02:51 PM

Let alone the number of us in the DFW area.

We should really have a gathering to laugh at each's other's cars, cats and gayness.

ScottyP3821 04-05-2013 07:14 PM

I'm down. I would go to the weds night plano meet but I have work early. It doesn't start till 930 which is too late. I daily my miata to unt for work/school everyday and have only seen one modded miata and the bastard never waved back.I guess you guys are off 121 or somethin. We should kick it sometime. Drive up to Sanger and cruize tye twistys. I am getting a new tranny soon maybe ill see some people at the autox meets. Justin area is also nice area for driving.

I'm cool with that. I am more of a dog person but I like some cats too mostly short hair. My dog is cool though she always chills with me outside while I work on my car and she's only 10months old. She a border collie whippet mix. Her name is She ra. Wife named her after he man's twin sister. We would like a cat but my grandma is allergic and even though she never comes over she would see tye cat as disrespect. I'll probably get a cat when she dies one day. I sound fain but I'm not trying to be.
