Noob here

Hey everyone I got a 93 Miata.

It's bone stock right now but I'm looking to mod it so that I can do some drift and grip events.

Gonna buy the BEGI-S at the end of the month. Kinda scared to install it myself to tell you the truth.

it's easy.

fill out some profile information (location, car, mods, etc) and welcome.

welcome

follow the instructions and the install should be a breeze.......any questions you can search and find answers to here........screw ********, gripping is so much better

Welcome.... Dr ift ing isn't popular around here. But fast miatas are. LOL

Good luck. You will love begi!

If you can replace basic parts on a motor. You won't have any problem installing a turbo. Just make sure you have a cheap 14mm wrench you can grind down. The center bolts are tight fitting. LOL

It was easy.

Kouki... if you could be a little more specific about your location, a few locals might chime in to help you with the install when the time comes... "CA" doesn't really help anybody who might want to come over and wrench with you. How about a city?

If you're in San Diego, I've can definitely spare an afternoon to help with the install... and an afternoon with 2 people is all it should take. Only things really to do beforehand are spray the engine (when it's cold) with Engine Brite a couple times to clean everything real good because nobody wants to work on a dirty engine... be sure to have tank of 91octane... new fuel filter... and SOAK EVERY NUT ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD/MIDPIPE THAT YOU'LL NEED TO TAKE OFF THE NIGHT BEFORE YOU DO THE JOB IN LIQUID WRENCH OR PBBlaster. I usually park the car, spray it down when it cools, and then right before I go to bed, hit it again.

Also, ******** a stock 1.6 drivetrain w/boost will grenade your dif. It's not a matter of "if", but "when"... and "how soon"... and probably sooner than later... especially if you put some decent rubber on. Start doing your homework on the 94+ differential swap.

Thanks for the replies, I've updated my location.

samnavy if you could help me that'd be awesome. I'm a little far but I would definitely pay you for your time.

I'm gonna read the BEGI-S instructions again and do some research on that 94 swap.

It would also be good to read the installation instructions on the Flyin miata web site.

And although tapping the oil pan sounds scary, it is cake. Make sure you do that as well.

Welcome.

I drift when I can't get my boat to crank. Does that count?
Take the fast way through the corner, instead. It's more fun to be first.

Good luck with your install.

P.S. Helpful hint: Any questions you have might already be answered in existing threads. The search function in this forum is a powerful tool.

Welcome!

So, do you own an FC, or did you? Your SN looks familiar.

KoukiFC3S 01-06-2009 07:25 PM

Thanks the FM instructions are really detailed.

I used to own a few FCs yea, just got the Miata for now tho.
