Hi. Your car clearly hates you already hence it rolled away on its own.
You're missing injectors, wideband and a differential upgrade.

Heh, it learned of his slamming/sliding plans and is attempting to kill itself to avoid the embarrassment.

Well thanks for letting me know my car hates me! I thought that was the case today after I go to pull into work and guess what. The brakes start sounding like straight grinding, so now it is time for some new brakes. Any suggestions? I want to get some 15x8 and 15x7-7.5 wheels I haven't made up my mind on style yet. I really like the xxr's and for the price I think there nearly unbeatable. Money is not really the problem I just sold a 65 mustang fastback so I have plenty of coin. Just wanna build on sumthin that is mor agile and cheaper. Fastback parts are freaking expensive so I am glad I am done with that endevor. Well gotta get back to work so let me know what you guys think oh and what diff should I go with I'm thinking 250-300 horse range. This little car would be a rocket with a nice set of stickys on it.

xxr wheels are heavy and your car will hate you even more.
http://949racing.com/15x9-6UL-wheels.aspx - wider, lighter

get caliper brackets from any 1.8 miata. they allow you to fit bigger rotors & pads with same calipers. it's cheap.

+1 this. Our cars corner for shit when you put zero offset wheels on them. They also don't handle or ride well with heavy wheels. It makes a bigger difference with our little cars than just about any other car on the road. Heavy wheels will make your car slower in a straight line and in the corners and will beat you up on rough streets.

1.8 cars were from '94-'05 for reference and they all had bigger brakes than the 1.6 cars.

If you get a computer and injectors you won't need an aftermarket fpr.

The 1.8 cars all had larger, stronger diffs than the '89-'93 1.6 cars. 1.6 diffs fail on stock power at random. They will not take abuse for a minute.

The 1.6 engines are plenty strong.

I recommend you read the DIY FAQ thread that is stickied around here somewhere for answers to these and many more questions you will have.

Good luck.

I haven't decided if this thread delivers yet. You want a computer and a fpr?

How about you post pictures of your car to get this thread rolling (into a mailbox)?

I can't post pics from my phone sorry. I should have made my self more clear. I would like to get a stand alone unit, or run my stock unit with a riseing rate fuel pressure regulator. I have not really made my mind up yet. It will really depend on how much power I want to make. I have done alot of research on this subject, but I still need to learn more before I assemble the rest of my parts, I need to complete my swap. I enjoy the car in stock form but I want more power and I want it to drift with ease. I am really nit interested in straight line or road racing of any kind. Although all forms of motorsport are challenging as well as fun I want to try and make a drift car. As well as prove that a miata is a great choice for beginner drifters. With the price of cheap rwd cars going through the roof it will really be just another outlet for some to pursue. Well thanks for all the info and I'm gonna get to some research. Pm me for any questions or comments I am always happy to talk cars!!!

RRFPR is good for 180-200whp

Miatas are proven lousy for drifting for multiple reasons including a wheel base that is too short to be easy to balance. It is just shy of being the worst choice for drifting. Have you looked into Volvos? They are even better than Miatas.
