Noob from Jersey
Hey all. My name is Dave and I am currently looking for Miata, specifically an NA. Preferably stock, or near stock.
I will be graduating from college next month, so I will have plenty of time to fool around with it. I have been saving up my money and want to start a project of sorts. My plans are to just get a stock NA and do some suspension work to it this summer, and maybe autocross it. Next spring/summer I would like to turbo it. This way by then I should know enough to do it. I have been looking at the Flyin Miata kits, and they seem pretty straight-forward. I am graduating from an Automotive Technology program and currently work as a service tech so I will definitely be putting in the wrench time myself. So if you know of any NA's for sale in the central Jersey region, hit me up. I'm not looking to spend more than maybe $2500, but if an opportunity presents itself, who knows. There might be a finders fee for anyone who helps me get one too  |
You're gonna be fine looking for a decent 1.6 w/$2500. In the current economy, I'd be on the hunt for a '94 or '95. Asking prices for decent examples are just a bit above what your limit is... but what people will take is in your range.

The prices around here seem very inflated to me. I can't understand how people can think an almost 20 year old car with 120k can sell for 4 grand or more.

Cause Miata's arent like Pinto's. Go to the mob (Mobbius MiataMob). That's the local jersey miata club. Contact Lip (jeff) on there. He's selling a black 94 A package.

If you are in central NJ you are much better off having me build you a turbo manifold & downpipe, and exhaust if you need too. You'll get much better stuff for less money than BEGI and A LOT less money than FM.
If you would rather go with an established kit, Shore Motorsports is a BEGI dealer. |

Hey guys, I've been surfing the net for a deal and came upon this.
1995 Mazda Miata Mx5 with extra parts I can do all the necessary brake work, and I emailed the seller to see if it's driveable. So what does the Miata community think of this one? |
I was in the same situation. It seems all the southern states have deals left and right. Patience will pay out
