Noob looking toi 1.8 swap + turbo soon

Hello all,

Noob from Detroit, Michigan. I've owned my bone stock 1993 NA6 for almost a year and a half now. I bought it for $3100 with only 62k miles on it, and it's got about 72k on it now. Haven't modified it in any way yet, since my rockers are pretty rusty and I wasn't sure if I wanted to do that to this car. However, almost all Miatas being sold in Michigan also have rocker rust to some extent, and the clean ones that rarely pop up for sale are going for well over what I personally would want to pay for a Miata. So until I can find a rust free car (or at least a roller) for a halfway decent price, I think I'll settle for what I have. Maybe one of these days I'll teach myself to weld so I can just fix my rockers and call it a day.

Lately, I've been wanting to go turbo. However, I didn't want to turbo my 1.6. I wanted a 1.8 car for that. A couple days ago, I happened to see a 1.8l BP4W motor being sold locally for $800. Previous owner said it had about 110k miles on it. It seemed like a decent motor, so I bought it. I figure it might be a fun winter project to play with.

So I want to turbocharge this 1.8 motor that I've got, then either swap it into my NA6, or drop it into a clean roller if I can find one by then. This will be my first time ever turbocharging a car, so I figure I'll start off with a pretty mild build on stock internals. I've been beginning to try to decide what I want my budget and power goal to be. I'll be doing plenty of research here and elsewhere before I begin the build, and I look forward to learning as I go along.
