NorCal new m

Hi everybody! My name's Leo and I guess like to :burncash: on cars
Few months ago I purchased a stock 1995 Miata with 209k miles as my little project car, with the intent of not leaving it that way...
My initial goal was to eventually do an LS swap, but after I saw the amount of work involved I decided that I will try the turbo route first, probably some time next year. For now I'm using the Miata to learn and to teach my girlfriend how to drive manual :skid:
Modding cars is a hobby for me and all I know comes from forums or YouTube. Actually TheCarPassionChannel got me here :bigtu:

Without further due, here's my ride:

Welcome to the forum. The car passion channel isn't always showing the preferred methods, fwiw.

Where are you located? We have a big group of members in northern California.

Are you planning on doing track days?

Hi and thanks :)
I'm located in the Bay Area and I'd love to know who's around here and discuss about Miatas (and turbos!).
I am definitely planning some track days as that's the main reason why I got this car... I had done a couple of track days in my GT4, but after a video that went viral about a guy smashing a similar car at the track, I decided to get experienced in something cheaper.

Right now I'm focusing on get the car in a state that I can push it without the feeling that the wheels might pop off or the engine blows up. I've been lurking around the "other" Miata forum so far, but I hope I can find some good info here too, especially around handling. :wavey:

welcome.
I'm in Sacramento, but plenty of Miata folks in the bay. And by plenty, I mean a metric gazillion.

Step 1) forget every single thing you may have learned or read on the "other site"
Step 2) learn all the proper ways here

welcome to the forum, Leo. I'm in the East Bay, in Concord. but I am always driving roads in berkeley, livermore, napa, san jose, etc. Let us know if you have any questions, and pm me if you're interested on coming to one of our local meets or going for a drive.
I really like the color of your valve cover btw.

Thanks and nice to meet you! I will definitely PM you. I am interested in some drives, although I need to install coilovers first as the stock suspensions are done. I would gladly join you for local meets tho, happy to meet Miata people and pick your brain :likecat:
