Default Just wanted to stop in and say hi

Whats going on people, my names Bryan.
I currently drive a turbo'd MINI Cooper S with some minor bolt on's
Long story short Im looking at selling the S and picking up something cheaper.
I love a great handling car with some pick up so I instantly starting looking into the miatas. I am seriously considering an older NA to drop a turbo into. I did the bolt ons for my MINI, and with some help could probably handle a turbo install.

Im local to SoCal so if you're in the area let me know and we'll grab a beer or head down to cars and coffee or something.

-lookin forward to the community,
Bryan

You've come to the right place!

If you can turn a wrench, you can install a turbo, so that's a good start. Do you have any specific plans?

I think its a bit early for specific plans. I'm still looking for my miata to purchase. After that the mods can begin. I've always learned suspenison before power, so ill probably be looking into at least upgrading the sway bar and then seeing how people progress from there. In the MINI world coilovers are the set up of choice CROSS especially. Something adjustable for track days vs. Daily driving. I know miatas have a great suspension reputation so we'll see how much I upgrade before turbo'ing. I've definitely also don't too many things piece by piece for cheap when I could have saved some cash and done a better job, so I will probably work on making sure I have quality parts across the board before I drop it in. I have a lot to learn, coming from a car that has an ECU locking up half your power it'll be nice not to worry as much about that. I've got a lot of reading and a lot of lurking to do, but the community seems good and is obviously well established. Ill be at cars and coffee in irvine if anyones gunna be there lemme know, id love to check out your ride
