San Francisco Noob

Hi all, this is my first post on MX-5t (woot) :loser: :noob: :loser:

My current project is a y2k nb that I've picked up a de-installed VF supercharger (for cheap because there were no installation instructions). In between the time of getting the sc, I've since blown up the motor via broken plastic radiator top after curbing a wheel racing to get back to work. And yes that took maaad skills to do.

ANywhoo, here I am and I'm hoping someone will point me to the right direction in getting those installation instructions (and the special tap tool for the oil pan would be great too). since it'll be that much easier to install the sc on my new engine while its out of the car.

Of course, in honor of my noob status I'll wait until after I post this up to try the search option. :winner:,

awesome, nothing of value came up in my search.

The "special tap" is not special. You just need a tap that matches the threads on whatever barb/fitting you're going to put in the pan.

Post up pics of all the parts you've got for the supercharger... take good pics, lay everything out on white towells or something... we can probably walk you through it. If I remember right, all the parts are pretty self-explanatory. On the other hand, superchargers suck, and the VF engineering one is it's own special brand of suck.

I've been playing with turbos on audis for a few years so I generally tend to agree about SC's. This was a deinstalled unit for $500 and appears complete, I had extra cash burning in my pocket so I did a, "Oh what the hell" shrug and got the unit instead of dropping the cash into my retirement fund.

I'll try to get some pics tonight, but I suck at posting pics on the intarwebs.

TIA.

Your a moron for not watching your temp gauage, ignoring the steam, ignoring the smell of rad fluid. I can tell your SC kit build will be win.

Because racecar

Awesome welcome jake. Rather than jumping to my own defense with statements like."my temp gauge was reading less then 2/3d's, or the steam came out a few seconds before the car lost power on the highway..." I'll instead ask if you're either the MT Troll (every board has one) or if "you're a moron" this is the standard greeting in your part of Corpus Christi?
