So I just bought a miata last week, it's a '91...I made sure the vin wasn't part of the series of 90s and 91s with the crankshaft issue.

It's super clean and I love the set up however I've got two issues I'll be looking up.

One, I've got a basic greddy kit turbo that's definitely experiencing some lag and I'm pretty sure there's a leak somewhere. I was told if I buy a carb cleaner and spray it in the bay I could look at the idle and see if it changes- if it does then I have a leak.

I'm considering just selling it and going back to stock because it's starting to sound like a headache for someone who isn't too mechanically inclined. Although I managed to install an intercooler with my friends last weekend.

The other issue is all of my interior lights went out the other night when I turn on my headlights. And my airbag light is flickering like a maniac.

Any miata-ersss in the charlotte area?

-Alex!

I was going to suggest just pulling that old tired whipped and beaten 1.6l slug for a fresh 1.8 and DIY it.

But then you mentioned electrical issues.

Another problem here is the college budget 😁
