Default New to the forum, New to turbos

sup guys, name in short is chili. i own a 1990 miata with no performance mods...yet. i dont have very much experience but im confident i can learn. so far ive put in a roll bar from blackbird fabworx.
and now id like to start to make the move to putting a turbo in it. soooo where to start. Planning. so far i know im not looking to make the fastest car in the hood, just want something ive put my time into i can take out to a country road on a weekend and maybe the track every now and then when i got the extra cash for it. i have 5k set aside for the car but this will include clutch upgrade if needed, brake upgrade, suspension and a turbo. hopefully. i do have more funds i can dip into if absolutely need be however im exploring every option before i have to do so. as i dont have the most experience im looking for a low maintenance, safe and reliable build. im a bit afraid of getting into tuning so im trying to avoid it if possible. which means if it can be done without a megasquirt id like to try. ive been looking at the begi s 1, 2, and 3. kits and the FM kits. id be going with a gt2554 and plan to run 5-6 psi as im only looking to get between 150-200 hp. im steering away from piecing one together because i want to make sure im not missing something i need. the things im unsure about is whats necessary for what im trying to achieve. i hope ive provided enough info to get any sort of feed back, suggestions, insight, anything.
