Stripped out Miata

Hi everybody!

I just acquired a 95 Miata from a good friend. I'm pretty familiar with the car and Miata's in general, as I've done a lot of work on this car, and other Miata's.

My friend whom I purchased it from had two Miatas. This one was his track-rat mainly used for monthly autocrosses in Orlando, and his other (96 Miata) was a daily driver. Sadly, the daily driver was wrecked in an accident at the fault of another driver. The track-rat became the daily driver and it wasn't long before we swapped the engine and transmission from the 96 into this one.

So, as it sits.. I have a 95 Miata with a 96 engine and transmission. OBD-1.

The car's interior is completely gone; dash, carpet, center console, door panels, everything short of a seat and a wheel. Rag top remains.

Power steering and A/C have been removed, as well as the A/C and heating components that were under the dash.

The car is pretty much stock aside from a coil-on-plug setup, and Flyin Miata's clutch happy meal, with the lighter flywheel.

Car was dynoed with 108HP at the wheels, and 102 torque.

I have a lot of plans for the car, which include a turbo, but I’m at least six months away from that stage. I would like to do lots of suspension and frame stiffening work very soon. Currently I’ve got my eye on some items from Flyin Miata, (frog arms, butterfly brace or frame rails, and V-Maxx stage 2 kit) unless my research on this forum takes me elsewhere, or if anyone has any other suggestions.

This will be my autocross and toy car.

I’ll be doing lots of reading on here over the next few weeks, and I’m sure when the time comes, I’ll have some questions, but for now I just wanted to say hi, and give you guys the details.

Also, anyone in the area who attends the monthly autocross at CFRC, you've seen this car. We're there every first Saturday of the month!

Nothing. He's either a spambot, or REALLY sucks at trying to bump up post count.
