I've been lurking around the forum for awhile, but I figure now is as good a time as any to say hello. Been stationed in Cali for 3 years, recently returned from a deployment to the 'Stan and decided to reward myself with the gift of boost once more.
From what I've been able to tell, I'm one of the rare few NC owners on here. If anyone's ever checked out the other forums (specifically miata.net), you might recognize me as one of the first guys to swap a 2.3L from a Mazda6 into one back in '08 as a "F U" to the dealership that refused to cover my blown motor under warranty. 2.3L MZR N/A NC Miata - MX-5 Miata Forum Flash forward to the present, and it's grown to be quite a bit more than a fix-it project. http://5523motorsports.com/blog/wp-c...1/Dyno-MZR.jpg The red lines were my previous WHP/TQ numbers. 5523 Motorsports Balanced and Blueprinted 2.3 ltr MZR for NC MX-5 | for the build specs Haven't quite hit my 360RWHP goal, but hopefully will fix that once we deal with the fuel pressure issue. |

Indeed it is. Though a lot of the kit got replaced or cleaned up, as my builders thought the overall quality of it was lacking.

Welcome, more pics please.

Welcome to the forum. We need more of your kind here.
More pics! Vids! gloriousness! |
DarkAngelKamui, congrats on signing up at the best site on the web!

Welcome aboard. Nice numbers!

Welcome.
Loving that powerband. Can't think of a better one for a daily. |
This is beyond dope. Any videos of this thing in action?
Was the 2.3 swap worth the effort if left n/a? Judging from the original dyno charts, i'd guess not. Looks certainly worth it for the turbo setup though, that torque is nuts. |

I love/hate that you left the factory wheels on it. :D
|
Looks really good, bet it's a hoot!!
|
lol, just haven't had the cash to drop on a set yet. Every time I saved up in the past, all of the funds ended up going towards other upgrades or fixes.
Maybe after the fuel pressure issue is fixed and I get a rollbar... ;) |
Just a good old 325hp sleeper NC. Pretty goddamn sick dude.
|
Thanks for providing the pics and details. I love it man, welcome to the site (even if you HAVE been lurking).
