I though I would introduce myself and pick up some general information on where to start my project.
I'm Tom and I come with a little bit of mechanical experience however most of my back ground involves older oil cooled carb motorcycles and not cars though.
I have a 2002 MX5 with 80k miles thats a manual.
I wish to turbo my Miata for cheap(ish). I have been running a 35 shot zex kit for a while but Id like a more permanent power additive.
I have access to a small machine shop and plenty of steel/aluminum from work. I also have access to almost any tool I will need.
My plan is to start with proper fuel management (MS) and then pick up a cheap ebay kit. With the eventual goal to change the turbo out for something used/rebuilt that's a bit nicer.
HP doesn't matter so much to me as long as I can get something that feels similar to a 35hp shot of nitrous but more legal to use on the street.

Check out MKturbo here on this site. The highest quality "cheap" kit on the market. Utilizes a wonderfully affordable eBay turbo, but the rest of the kit is hand made quality components that will outlast your average eBay kit 10:1, at least.
