I've been lurking on here for some time. I just picked up a 94 with 24k miles and I'm looking to boost it in the near future. I'm not new to miatas...I bought my first one last summer. It was a black 94 r package that I put 10000 miles on it 4 months. This particular car had no A/C and the stock bilsteins were punishing to say the least so when an m.net member made me an offer out of the blue I couldn't resist. My first planned mod is installing a pair of Lotus Probax Leather seats. I found a mint pair close to home. These will drop my seating position and make the car much more comfortable. I look forward to learning from the veterans on this site and documenting my progress. |
The guy in the photos was the owner who bought it new in 94 and yes.....the interior wood trim was the first thing to go hahaha

Thanks for the warm welcome fellers. Just picked these bad boys up this morning. Flipside brackets on the way... |
Welcome, that car looks very clean.
The proper order to boost the car is. 1. ECU and wideband. MT.net heavily favors Megasquirts, but you can also go with Hydra, AEM, Adaptronic, or Haltech. Learn to tune the car stock so that you don't blow it up doing something stupid later. 2. Install larger injectors and retune. I recommend the FlowForce 600 injectors sold by TSE. 3. Install a stronger clutch. Stick with FM or ACT. The amount of work involved with changing a clutch is not worth trying to save a little bit of money here. 4. Install a no electronics turbo setup. FM, Begi, MKTurbo, Artech, Fab9, TSE all offer setups of various types for all sorts of power levels. 5. Enjoy the car. |
