Virgin from Minnesota
By that I mean never autocrossed. Never boosted. Never swapped motors. Never owned a miata till now. We all have to start somewhere.
Purchased a 1990 Na 1.6l silver with 118k last July. Car looks like ****. Has very little rust but has a primer looking paint job, fenders rolled and pulled like **** and duct tape for "accents" sporting a certain spidery superhero. Should have been sanded off long ago. The only things I've done to it since the purchase date is tokico illuminas all around with gc coilovers lowered all the way. Stock rims. **** tires. Borla exhaust and a front lip. 1.8l clutch, pressure plate, and 10lb flywheel. It's my daily. And I can feel it dying more every day
What I'm here for
Learn about what going FI looks like on a miata. Have spent the past year researching such inquiries and collected parts. Of which will be dressed on a new motor. Not sure if I'm going with another miata motor or swapping for something else. Not going v8. Sticking with 4-6cyl boosted. Either case will be healthier than the motor in it now.
Will be going megasquirt this spring simply to learn it inside and out for tuning on a new motor. Once I have the new motor I have debated on boosting the **** out of the stock motor to see how much it can take. And how much fun I can have :P then swapping.
I do not ask many questions. I find the answers. I'm not a newb who just left mamas nest. Just new to miatas and this community
Btw. My name is mike. Nice to meet you all. I already know a lot of you hear just from reading thread after thread.

haha... its doable... most people just dont find it practical... but if you have a separate DD, and the time and money to play, theres no telling what you can do... ive seen some very impressive RB25 swaps, and was always curious myself... but that would be ALOT of work... im very comfortable with the 1.6 and 1.8, and know my way around them fairly well... the RB25 would be an interesting adventure. hahaha

A swap is 99999:1?? Highly doubtful. As stated I am undecided what I want to swap in. He'll I may even swap a stock motor back in with less miles. Who gives a ****. My intentions are unclear. Yet they're still shot down. If this is what is to be had from this forum, take this as my fairwell, ill find one with more respectable members

Show that you aren't just another noob who has big dreams and the odds will get better. If everyone who announced their planned swap in their intro thread actually did it, nobody here would have a BP.
