So, I'm in my early 20's and currently live and volunteer full time in Brooklyn. I've been into cars forever and have come to the conclusion that I will own a Miata in the relatively near future. It may or may not be turbo, but will almost certainly be missing a windshield by the time I'm done with it. Something like this, but probably not as nice/showy Project Speedster - Page 23 - Members Rides - MX5Nutz Forum - Page 23

Just lurking on this forum has been hugely impressive. The threads about tires, brakes and aero are wonderful and the posters are obviously very experienced with driving their cars on track.

Rock on

What if you were to imagine a street version of an XP or DP auto-x car?

Wait you live and work in Brooklyn and you want a car like that? Where are you going to keep it, where would you work on it, and how the **** do you keep it from getting stolen?

I actually do have remarkably easy access to a garage but the real answer is I'm moving to the mountains near Yosemite National Park soon.

That is a perfect response, I would say once you are out of NYC that you should go for it. Just make sure when you are looking to buy a car, if it is in the north east to make sure there is no rust.

Tuolumne. Groveland, specifically.

That it will. Do you get to drive the mountains much?

Nice. The only time I got to drive the roads was in a P71 Crown Vic and I couldn't help but think it'd be fun to live in the area with a Miata. Looks like I may get my wish.

Plans have a way of changing. I'm now in Florida with 1.5 Miata's in the yard. The white car is an engineless 1990 on Spax coilovers and the red is a 1996 that was hit from behind. The engine will stay normally aspirated for now, but I already picked up a sheet of aluminum so I'll be having some fun with aero stuff.

Hmm, I don't usually get comments like that unless I'm wearing my assless chaps.
