Welcome anyway!

Well, lots of trees in north NJ and certainly more pickup trucks than Miatas.
With a forum name like that, maybe you should have practiced Santeria before driving :-)

Any before/after crash pictures? What are you studying in college?

ssublime 08-01-2012 11:47 PM

i have a few ill upload them in a sec. and oh yeah, there are alot of trucks that could crush a miata.
and indeed i should have i would have avoided an F-bomb storm. Im studying biology at Sussex county community college but i plan on transfering to penn state....but not doing any foot ball:giggle:

and the hot redhead girlfriend to match the hot red car....

Damn, that's quite the wreck. Glad to see you're okay. WTF happened?

Also what year was the car, if it's a 94+ you should part it out! well even a 90-93 is worth parting, just not as much so.

Miater 08-02-2012 02:00 PM

Welcome. Sorry about the short life of your red dot.

Dont stop there, grab another.

How did you pull that off?

Excessive speed plus inexperience, the picture tells most of the story of the crash if you look carefully at it. CR.net may be a better choice for the OP based on what appears to have happened.

ssublime 08-02-2012 04:20 PM

I was on the way home from work and the local road crew chipped and oiled a section of the turn but didn't sweep away the excess rocks. Started to skid a bit tried to save it but it was like ice. ive got video of me taking three steps and skidding fifteen feet on my shoes.

---- happens eh? i would grab another but my 6'4 frame barely fit with the seat carved out.

Chalk it up to valuable experience gained if you walked away from it without injuries, and make sure to go slower in construction areas in the future then.

The wreck shows exactly what you described - someone going too fast for current road conditions, and then being unable to correct in time. However, although your description does sound rather unbelievable, I would expect the construction crew and/or local government would be liable for damages if it was truly left in the state you describe. I would think that that is the exact sort of thing the local government would be all up in the construction companies face screaming at them about within minutes of finding out about that. Creating hazardous road conditions isn't something that most places take casually.

indeed it is valuable experience. When i went to get it towed back home the guys at the shop it was towed to showed me a car with a fatal crash. The center pillar was six inches from the center console. you would imagine right? north jersey sucks for road conditions.

Full disclaimer: When I first saw your crash, I thought it was street racing. That's a classic street racing accident, although what kept me from flaming the pants off of you (and I'm glad I didn't go straight to flame on mode!) was the damage wasn't as bad as to be expected (Aka, you weren't going as fast as I would expect) for a street racing accident.
