What have I gotten myself into?
I decided to look for a Miata when my wife said she was no longer comfortable on the back of my motorcycles. In Ohio most NA's or NB's are full of rust so finding a nice body was my top priority. I found a ridiculously clean NA that was an abandoned turbo project, but had all the right parts. The previous owner had the engine built with manley rods and 8.5 to 1 wisecos and all new bearings and had the documentation. It also has megasquirt2 PNP, deatschwerks 1000cc injectors, deatschwerks fuel pump, boundary engineering oil pump, FM intercooler and piping, begi intake manifold, unknown cast exhaust manifold and a t3 48 trim china turbo. Other non-engine mods are clutch and flywheel, 949 driveshaft, a real roll bar, kirkey seats, harnesses, gauges, coilovers, etc.
This isn't my first turbo car, I've had a mazadaspeed3 and 80's turbo dodges. However, this is my first turbo car where I cant just call up a tuner and request a new chip to be burned or a new tune emailed to me. I recently got the car bolted back together and running. It barely started and was dumping gas out the downpipe. I now have it starting easily and idling decent. I admit I find megasquirt a little intimidating. I'm taking it slow and reading a lot here as questions arise. I'm sure I will have plenty of noob-tatstic questions once she's on the road. I will post a few pics soon. |

It's currently rolling around on 13" steel wheels. I'm on the fence between 2 different wheels. The Kosei K4r in 15x8 or the Konig hypergram in 15x7.5, I already have a set of new 205/50r15s waiting. |
15x8s for sure.

Another Ohioan! Are you in the Ohio Miata Owners(OMO) on Facebook yet? They do group drive/events pretty regularly.

Yeah, I'm on the facebook group, it's actually how I found the car. My name is Derrick DeBorde, if you ever see me post on there.

Don't take my cat! |
I got wheels and tires and have been driving and tuning the car some. The wheels are 15x9 Advanti Storm S1's with 225/45/15 Hankook Ventus RS3 tires. I think its about time for the dyno to tune my spark and get the tune dialed in. Damn this thing is fun!
