Default mspnp 9093 no start

ok guys i have read, and searched and i can't seem to figure out why my car won't start...

i bought a used 9093 with the iat delete modded for linear tps by dyautotune...

i installed everything,
disconnected the ignitor and coilpack...

reloaded the 9093 no afm firmware

removed key, connected everything back in,

turn the key and the starter goes, but it doesn't turn over...

on the megatune screen al the gauges bounce around like crazy indicating that is it connecting, but the car won't turn on...

***
my car 93 car has a 95 stock motor swap....

is there anything i have to chance on the software because of the swap?

i'm totally lost and confused... and any help would be greatly appreciated...

also on the bottom left part of the screen in megatune, i see the green light indicating that fuel and spark are working....

please help...

-J

edit: installed the linear bmw tsp and connected it... in the tps calibration screen, i got readings for both wot and for close....

Please tell me you plugged the ignitor back in.

Sounds like your not getting any spark. The first time i fired up my 1.8 swapped 90 i had a 1.6 msq on and it fired right up no problem.

lol, i plugged the ignitor and the coil pack back in....

and i checked i do get spark on all 4 cylinders which to me would indicate the the ignitor and the coil packis working ??

quick question though... for the firmware, i need to upgrade to the 90-93 no afm firm ware right?

and after i open up the megatune software i opened the 90-93 and burned to controller... (i can have the ignitor plugged in for this right?)

also, another weird question is that spark btdc was nearly at 18 degrees.... is that normal?

i'm gonna go log it and will post that up in a second...

edit: i also smell gasoline, so it feels like i'm getting both fuel and spark...

i'm gonna go now reload the firm ware, open the 9093 and see what happens, ill save the log and post back...

ok, i figured out whats wrong with it... no fuel....

i looked at the datalog on and noticed a -6 cross the board for fuel....

so i jumpered the f/p and ground, heard the fuel pump kick on, turned the key and the car started right up...

i have the st sign fuse out of the car....

how do i fix this? how do i get megasquirt to turn the fuel pump off and on?

i bought this unit used, is it possible the previous owner fucked it up by leaving the fuse in the car when he installed this ****?

if so, how do i fix it? how do i know if the megasquirt is bad without actually opening up and looking for a burnt resistor?

edit: and i'm searching now and have been searching...

The fuel pressure value in the data log is a nonsense value; the Megasquirt mainboard is able to log some types of sensors that are not on a stock Miata.

Can you save yourself the headache and just run it with the jumper.

That's what all us 1.6L MS(nonPnP) guys do...I daily mine like this, never an issue.

lol... i set my idle and got the car running this way... now i have a second issue where the fan doesn't turn on... i really think i got fucked by guy who sold me the used unit....

i don't want to have to ground my fan, and jump the fuel pump... that **** would be janky as hell...

i want the mspnp to work the way it is supposed to etc etc etc...

fan should work regardless of the PNP if the thermoswitch is still connected.

did you remove the SIG_START Fuse? circuit probably got fried...

i have no front clt sensor.... i didn't plumb it in when i did my coolant reroute...

so it is dependent on the ms to trigger the fan...

i definitely removed the sig/start fuse, but don't know if the previous owner of the mspnp removed the fuse or not...

so there are issues with the ms not turning on my fan, and or running the fuel pump...

edit: i was so paranoid about the fuse being out, the ignitor being disconnect, and the coil pack being disconnected i pulled it before i even started removing the carpet... i did it incase i forgot... lol... and i know i don't need to disconnect the coil pack just the ignitor, but i did it anyway... just to be safe... lol....

Thanks everyone for helping me diagnose this... with the help of the diy guys we checked all the pins for both the fan and for the fuel pump, and it seems to be an issue with the mspnp i bought used...

so now i'll be trying to get a claim via ups, because it worked before, and it doesn't work on my car, so it must have been damaged when shipped, maybe they dropped it too hard when shipping... *sigh* hopefully i can get it resolved so i can get my car back on the road!!
