Here in California they require emissons stuff to be intact, that would include the MAF. Would there be a way to gut the MAF just to make it decorative?

you might be able to just throw a gm maf on there and with just nothing plugged, probably wouldn't even be a restriction, i don't know if they would recognize that though

You could just throw it on there and let the wires lead to no where. Won't hurt anything. Take it off when you get home.
You could probably take out the door from the AFM and leave it there though.

What I did (in Ireland BTW) was to gut the cat !
I took out all the clay stuff inside the cat and put a steel pipe right through it, I then had each end welded. Sorted
Then I found out that a cat wasn't required on my 1991 here in Ireland so I just cut off the flanges and welded a steel pipe between em. Sorted !

thats a good way to make a stealthy test pipe for sure, however I think this thread is more pointed to stuff under the hood such as AFM, PCV, and EGR. Firedog, as a fellow california guy i am personally going to bolt back in the EGR can, have pcv still, 1.6 injectors, stock AFM and OEM ecu to pass emissions, just not worth the risk of failing imo.

lol, thanks magna i was thinking charcoal canister, but said EGR. I yanked it out like 6 months ago but it would take 10 minutes to get it hooked back up.
