From 4G63 to Miata99-00, no start
Hello everyone, i'm facing a weird issue on my NA vvt swap.
I had my car running smoothly with CAS setup, MS2, VVT engine and 4G63 trigger setting. In order to enable the vvt feature with the incoming ms3 i moved from CAS to crank and cam sensors, switched to Miata99-00 trigger setup, checked trigger offset with strobo and measured TDC offset to 8 (i even tried from 0 to 10 with no success) but i couldn't start the engine at all. The only way i can start the engine is setting cranking pulsewidth over 450% or doubling reqfuel setting from 6 to 12. Of course that last options makes the VE too rich. switching back to CAS it works just fine again with exactly same setup and fuel setting. Is there something about Miata99-00 setting that could cause that behavior? |

I add maps and cranking log, please let me know if something more specific in matter of logs is needed :)

from my experience from switching from CAS to 99-00 sensors and looking at your Ignition Options, I would change:
Skip Pulses = 3 Ignition Input Capture = Falling Edge Spark Output = Going High Try that out and see if it helps If it still doesn't start, I would check the air gap between your crank sensor and the timing wheel. Shouldn't be more than a credit card's width |
