660'S new injectors settings

okay well im kinda excited about my newest purchase bought some 550 denso from the rx7 the purple tops but they flowed 650, 650, 640, 660 but with that said what all settings besides the req fuel have to be changed and obviously messing with the ve table for idle etc....

cjernigan 01-17-2008 01:18 AM

Req fuel, accel enrich, cranking PWs
Not sure what else off the top of my head. Better look into running hi-res code to get them to idle leaner than 12:1.

Braineack 01-17-2008 09:37 AM

make sure to put the 660cc one on #4.

do what chad says.

in regards the the req_fuel, you may want to keep it as is and scale the entire VE table accordingly. IIRC I read somewhere it's best to keep that number above 5-6. dunno why, it's all the same to me.

Yup, on Chads advice I did the same, move REQ_fuel up to 6.0 from 5.0 and scaled the VE table.

Meant I could idle closer to stoich without any loss in smoothness. (prior to the change the smoothest idle AFR was 12:1....)

Still with 660's you're never going to get a stable idle AFR peiriod!

What makes you say that?

This guy is using a 1000cc and says his idle is fine at 1000 RPM

tec is higher res than ms...at least I assume.

I hope my 550's are closer to 550 than that.

Braineack 01-17-2008 10:31 AM

brad's 550s flowed out 600cc IIRC, his idles better than mine. 029v code.

Note I said you'd never get stable idle AFR's not you'd never get a stable Idle...

I bet those injectors are low impedance run through a fully sequential ECU though.

My RX7 550's flowtested to 600's and I struggle to stay at stoich at idle, it's not a huge deal till the car's due for it's annual check.

It idled fine, smooth etc just on the rich side, with the highres and keeping req_fuel over it's correct figure it's far leaner without compromising idle stability/smoothness.

FWIW a mate with low impedance 550's and a full sequential ECU (Adaptronic) idles super smooth at 15:1 and leaner, my car would be unbearable at those idle AFR's

Braineack 01-17-2008 01:11 PM

rich, it could also be your fuel pressures... we only have 35psi at idle, where you have 60psi.

cjernigan 01-17-2008 01:19 PM

I'm the one with 65 or so constant psi, pretty sure his 96-97 or w/e runs the same as yours. I don't know much about NAs though.

nah mine's the same as yours, it's an NA not an NB :)

n/m confused you with reverant....
